Sayyed Houthi: Quds Day Is the Ummah’s Call to Confront the Zionist Project
International Quds Day remains one of the most important occasions for awakening the Muslim Ummah to its sacred duty toward Palestine, Al-Quds, and the defense of Islamic holy sites.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi declared that International Quds Day remains one of the most important occasions for awakening the Muslim Ummah to its sacred duty toward Palestine, Al-Quds, and the defense of Islamic holy sites.
In his address marking International Quds Day, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi warned that the Zionist project represents a threat not only to Palestine but to the entire region and the Islamic world.
“The occasion of International Quds Day, on the last Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan, is an occasion of great importance, related to reminding the Muslim Ummah of its sacred and religious responsibility toward the greatest cause of the age: confronting the Jewish Zionist danger.”
He said the Zionist project aims at dominating the region and eliminating Islamic identity and sovereignty.
“It occupied Palestine, Al-Quds, and other Arab regions, and seeks to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque and establish ‘Greater Israel’ through the occupation of the countries of the region and complete domination over them.”
Imam Khomeini’s Historic Initiative
Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi highlighted the historic role of Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, who declared the last Friday of Ramadan as International Quds Day shortly after the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
“This occasion was proclaimed by Imam Khomeini, may Allah have mercy on him, and he called for it within the framework of an early adoption of the Palestinian cause and the Islamic position toward the Jewish Zionist enemy.”
He said the Islamic Republic later proved the sincerity of that position through steadfast and practical support for the Palestinian cause.
“The Islamic Republic also proved its credibility in remaining firm on this position and translating it into practice by supporting this cause in every form of support.”
Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi also emphasized the deep spiritual meaning behind the timing chosen by Imam Khomeini.
“The choice of the last Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan was a successful choice by Imam Khomeini… reminding the Ummah of the place of this cause in its faith-based and religious obligations.”
Palestine as the Ummah’s Central Cause
According to Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the Palestinian cause concerns all Muslims because it is tied to the sanctities of Islam.
“This issue concerns us all as Muslims by virtue of our belonging to Islam.”
He stressed that Palestine contains some of Islam’s holiest sanctities, including Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“Palestine is one of the lands of Islam, and within it are Islamic holy sanctities, foremost among them Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi said International Quds Day ensures that the Palestinian cause remains alive in the conscience of the Ummah.
“It is an occasion that keeps the cause alive in the conscience of the Ummah through practical engagement with it.”
Call for Mass Mobilization on Quds Day
Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi also called on the Yemeni people to participate massively in commemorating International Quds Day, stressing that public mobilization reflects the Ummah’s commitment to the Palestinian cause.
“I call on our dear people to come out tomorrow, God willing, to revive International Quds Day, and for the attendance to be great, honorable and massive in the capital Sanaa and in the rest of the provinces.”
He said large public participation in Quds Day activities demonstrates the living connection of the Muslim Ummah with Palestine and the defense of Islamic sanctities, foremost among them Al-Aqsa Mosque. (PW)
