Sayyed Houthi Condemns US Crime Against the Holy Qur’an, Calls for Mass Mobilization
Ansar Allah leader urges nationwide protests on Friday following new American insult to Islam’s holiest scripture
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the leader of Ansar Allah, issued a formal statement condemning a new act of desecration against the Holy Qur’an carried out by an American individual running for public office, describing the act as a deliberate crime against Islam’s most sacred text.
According to the statement, the insult—publicized through Western media and used as electoral propaganda—constitutes an attack on “the most sacred of religious sanctities on earth.”
Sayyed al-Houthi stated that the act falls within the framework of what he described as an ongoing Zionist war against Islam, led by the United States and Britain in partnership with Israel and supported by allied forces in the West and elsewhere.
He emphasized that hostility toward the Qur’an reflects deep ideological darkness, while the Qur’an itself remains a source of protection, guidance, and moral fortification for those who adhere to it, and a safeguard against tyranny, corruption, and subjugation.
US, Israel, and Britain Linked to Broader War on Islam
In his statement, Sayyed al-Houthi linked the Qur’an desecration to broader US-, British-, and Israeli-backed actions across Palestine and the wider region, citing continued Israeli crimes, daily aggression, and violations against Islamic sanctities, including repeated assaults on Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He stated that the ongoing “soft and hard war” conducted by Zionist forces and their Western backers seeks to undermine the status of the Qur’an among Muslims and sever their connection to it. He further warned that silence in the face of such actions amounts to a grave failure and abandonment of religious, moral, and humanitarian responsibility.
The statement also criticized what it described as the role of allied regimes and media platforms that openly adopt Zionist narratives, promote Israeli propaganda, and work to deflect attention away from crimes committed against the Palestinian people and the Islamic world.
Call for Nationwide Action and Major Friday Demonstrations
Sayyed al-Houthi called on the Yemeni people to publicly declare their position against the insult to the Qur’an through broad-based popular action, beginning with activities in universities and schools, alongside diverse initiatives led by Islamic scholars.
He urged the organization of major public demonstrations on Friday as an expression of Yemen’s faith-based identity and a clear rejection of American and Israeli hostility toward Islam. He said the demonstrations would reaffirm Yemen’s steadfast adherence to a faith-driven path of resistance in the face of US-Israeli aggression targeting the Islamic Ummah.
The statement emphasized continued solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and affirmed Yemen’s readiness to confront any conspiracies targeting the nation, while calling for sustained public mobilization, awareness campaigns, and preparedness for future stages of confrontation.
The full statement concluded with religious invocations and slogans affirming resistance to American and Israeli aggression and support for Islam and its causes. (PW)
