Saudi Regime Massacres Dozens in Taiz Market

Ansarallah promises a severe response after airstrikes kill and wound 50 civilians in Yemen.

TAIZ — Saudi fighter jets carried out a massacre on Sunday, targeting a crowded marketplace in the southwestern province of Ta’iz, leaving approximately 50 people killed or injured.

The attacks occurred around noon local time on September 27, with Saudi warplanes conducting two separate strikes on the main market in the city of Ta’iz, specifically the Mawiyah marketplace. Health officials initially confirmed seven martyrs and 40 wounded directly from the marketplace strike, making up the bulk of the 50 total casualties reported in the immediate aftermath.

Mohammad Abdul Salam, spokesman for the Ansarallah movement, strongly condemned the bombardment as a “mass killing” and a clear sign of the Saudi regime’s determination to ruin Yemen’s civilian infrastructure.

“The Saudi regime continues to commit massacres and target civilian infrastructure and facilities, including bridges, buildings, and markets,” Abdul Salam stated on his X account.

Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree confirmed the details of the massacre, noting that the same Saudi fighter jets also carried out four additional attacks on the northern province of Jawf. Saree warned that the slaughter of innocents at the Mawiyah market would carry “huge costs” for the Saudi perpetrators.

Addressing the broader geopolitical dimensions of the conflict, a Yemeni military adviser issued a stark warning regarding Riyadh’s backers. The adviser stressed that the country’s armed forces would directly target American interests across West Asia if the United States provides military support to Saudi Arabia in the ongoing war.

The relentless Saudi bombardment has left widespread destruction, with Ansarallah emphasising that the targeting of commercial and public spaces represents a blatant continuation of aggression against the Yemeni people.
