Riyadh signals full readiness for Hajj as first Iranian group heads to Medina, with assurances of security, logistics, and smooth pilgrimage arrangements.
Saudi Arabia, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Saudi Arabia has announced that, following full preparations for the Hajj season, it is eagerly and fully ready to welcome Iranian pilgrims.
According to Tasnim News Agency, a representative of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj, coinciding with the arrival of a delegation from Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, stated that the first operational group of Iranian pilgrims is scheduled to arrive in the city of Medina tomorrow.
They will then proceed to Mecca in complete safety, tranquility, and peace of mind to perform the obligatory Hajj rituals under secure and comfortable conditions.
“We are awaiting their arrival at the Sacred House of God with utmost enthusiasm and hospitality,” the representative said.
Coordination Between Tehran and Riyadh
A representative of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization noted that, during contacts with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister for International Affairs at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Saudi officials repeatedly emphasized their readiness to welcome pilgrims from across the Islamic world—particularly from Iran—with open arms.
They added that all necessary arrangements have been made in accommodation, catering, and transportation, including land, rail, and air services.
Timeline and Scale of Iranian Pilgrimage
According to the latest announcement by Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, approximately 30,000 Iranian pilgrims will participate in this year’s Hajj, with departures to Saudi Arabia set to begin on April 28, 2026.
The organization confirmed that the pilgrimage operations are being carried out with the authorization and approval of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
Iranian pilgrims, who will stay in Saudi Arabia for more than one month, are expected to spend six nights and seven days of their journey in the city of Medina.
The Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization has not yet officially clarified whether the pilgrims will travel by land or air. (PW)
