Russian Ruling Party Chairman Medvedev Arrives in Pyongyang
Upon his arrival in Pyongyang, Medvedev writing, “I arrived for the 80th anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK). The clock is ticking. Friends stand together. Enemies are tense.
North Korea, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Chairman of the United Russia Party and Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, has arrived in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), a TASS correspondent reported.
Medvedev leads the United Russia delegation, which traveled to Pyongyang to participate in celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).
According to a previous statement from the United Russia Party’s press service:
“At the invitation of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, a delegation from the All-Russian Political Party United Russia, led by Party Chairman Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, will visit North Korea and take part in ceremonial events honoring the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea.”
Medvedev Signals Solidarity with North Korea
Upon his arrival in Pyongyang, Medvedev signaled solidarity with North Korea in a post on MAX, writing:
“I arrived for the 80th anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK). The clock is ticking. Friends stand together. Enemies are tense.”
The message underscored the longstanding cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang, as Medvedev’s visit marks a symbolic gesture of unity during the anniversary celebrations.
Celebrating Eight Decades of the WPK’s Founding
The Workers’ Party of Korea was established in 1945 and currently serves as the ruling party in North Korea under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.
The anniversary of its founding is celebrated annually on October 10.
