As the letter noted, these disruptions are “hurting communities here in Britain and having a catastrophic impact in the global south.” The message is clear: the Western working class refuses to subsidise the military-industrial complex and the expansionist wars of the Zionist entity while their own communities face economic ruin.

The coalition acknowledged the new Labour government’s rhetorical focus on the domestic cost of living crisis, but sharply condemned its contradictory foreign policy.
“We are encouraged by the new government’s focus on the cost of living and the measures it is taking to make life more affordable. However, we are deeply concerned that the same government has authorised US air strikes to be conducted from bases on British territories as part of the war against Iran,” the representatives wrote.
This deep concern stems from Prime Minister Burnham’s actions shortly after taking office last month. Despite promises of a renewed focus on the British populace, Burnham moved quickly to authorise the use of RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire and the strategic Indian Ocean territory of Diego Garcia to assist the US war machine. By approving the continued use of these bases on July 21, Burnham merely maintained the pro-imperialist, anti-Iran policies established by his predecessor, Keir Starmer.
