Retired Israeli General: We Are Witnessing the Collapse of Israel’s Security Structure
Yitzhak Brik says Israel is facing its worst security crisis since its establishment, warning that military and security institutions are undergoing a process of collapse despite tactical gains.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - A retired Israeli general has warned that Israel is experiencing a process of collapse across its entire security establishment.
According to a detailed analysis published by the Hebrew-language outlet News1, retired Major General Yitzhak Brik described what he sees as the disintegration of Israel’s security and military structures in all dimensions. He argued that Israel’s current security situation is the worst it has been since the establishment of the state, and that this decline is continuing despite what some describe as tactical achievements.
Iran’s Strategic Shift and the Strait of Hormuz
Brik stated that Iran fundamentally changed its war strategy compared to the Twelve-Day War. According to his assessment, Tehran decided that its battlefield would no longer be Israeli and American aircraft, but rather the global economy, moving to close the Strait of Hormuz.
He noted that Iran openly declared this strategy. However, U.S. President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and their advisers failed to grasp its implications. As a result, “Operation Rising Lion” was launched as a replication of the Twelve-Day War, but ultimately ended in failure.
Brik argued that Trump was forced to back down, while Israel now faces what he described as the greatest threat in its history.
Call for a Fundamental Overhaul
The retired general went on to provide a detailed assessment of the Israeli military’s current condition, describing it as deeply troubled. He also evaluated Israel’s future prospects and outlined what he believes must be done to address the crisis.
Brik concluded that a fundamental overhaul of the Israeli military and the broader defense system is urgently required. As a first step, he said, the entire senior leadership should be replaced. (PW)
