Regional Security Must Belong to the Region — No American Future in West Asia
The era of foreign domination in West Asia is collapsing as Iran deepens support for the Resistance Axis and calls for a regional security order without American presence
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Senior Iranian commander Major General Mohsen Rezai says that the future security of West Asia must be determined by the countries of the region themselves, rejecting continued American and European military presence and describing the decline of U.S. influence as inevitable following the war against Iran.
Rezai stated that Iran is pursuing a new regional model centered on independent security cooperation among regional states rather than foreign military domination.
“The countries of the region must secure their own security,” Rezai said. “Foreign forces, whether American or European, must leave this region.”
According to him, Iran seeks the establishment of a regional security council involving major regional powers including Iraq, Egypt, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.
“We do not want to become pawns in America’s conflict with China,” he stated. “We do not want to be dragged into a power struggle between East and West.”
Iran Declares American Influence in Decline
Rezai stated that the United States entered the region believing it could dominate West Asia after the collapse of the Soviet Union, but now faces strategic decline following its failure against Iran.
“We are confident that the United States will decline and collapse day by day,” he said. “This usurping regime will also collapse, and security will return to the region.”
According to Rezai, Washington’s military project in West Asia has entered a phase of erosion, while regional states increasingly question the costs of continued alignment with the United States and Israel.
He further stated that Iran’s victory against the United States reshaped political relations globally, weakening NATO cohesion and deepening divisions inside the Western alliance.
Iran Reaffirms Support for the Resistance Axis
Rezai reaffirmed Iran’s support for the Axis of Resistance, including Hizbullah, Ansarullah, and Iraqi resistance factions, describing them as part of Iran’s own security structure.
“We stand behind the Resistance Axis in defense of Iran and in defense of Islam,” he declared.
He rejected claims that Hezbollah initiated the war in Lebanon, stating that the movement emerged directly from Israeli occupation and aggression.
“Hezbollah did not bring war to Lebanon,” Rezai said. “Hezbollah was born in occupied Lebanon to defend Beirut and the Lebanese people.”
He further declared that Iran would continue standing beside Lebanon and the Resistance front, stressing that any future ceasefire arrangement must include an end to Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
Rezai Criticizes Gulf Alignment With Israel
Rezai also criticized several Persian Gulf governments for cooperating with Israel and supporting wars against Iran despite decades of Iranian restraint.
According to him, Gulf states supported Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq War while allowing weapons shipments to pass through the Strait of Hormuz against Iran.
He stated that despite these actions, Iran did not seek revenge and instead maintained regional economic cooperation.
“The UAE benefited enormously from Iranian capital over decades of trade and investment,” Rezai said, referring to financial flows toward Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
He also stated that American military bases in Persian Gulf countries continue to be used against Iran, warning that Tehran cannot remain passive under continued aggression.
“Death to America” Will Continue in the Streets
Rezai stated that enemy efforts to destabilize Iran internally had failed following the war, arguing that even many previous protesters now openly support confrontation against the United States and Israel.
According to him, millions of Iranians registered in national mobilization campaigns following the war, with many declaring readiness for armed resistance and logistical support.
“These people are proof of the strength of this revolution,” he said.
Rezai concluded by stating that continued American and Israeli pressure would only deepen anti-American sentiment inside Iran.
“The streets will inevitably chant ‘Death to America’ and ‘Death to Israel,’” he said. “The United States has nothing ahead except despair.” (PW)
