Qalibaf to Trump: Commitments Must Be Honored Without Excuses
Commitments that have been made must be honored, without any ifs, buts, or excuses. There is no other path for the upcoming understanding
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, head of Iran’s negotiating delegation, called for the full implementation of commitments made during ongoing talks with the United States, saying there is no path to an understanding without honoring agreed obligations.
Writing in English on social media, Qalibaf stated:
“Commitments that have been made must be honored, without any ifs, buts, or excuses. There is no other path for the upcoming understanding. Everyone eventually reaps what they sow.”
Negotiations between Tehran and Washington are currently moving through their final stage of internal review.
According to Qalibaf, any future understanding must rest on the implementation of commitments already made, not on new conditions, excuses, or attempts to alter agreed terms.
Draft Understanding Still Under Review
Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that meetings involving Iran’s relevant institutions are underway to review the draft text of a preliminary understanding with the United States.
Baghaei said understandings have already been reached on most major issues and that the process has entered its final phase of internal deliberations.
However, he stressed that no final decision has been made and that the draft must still complete the country’s approval process.
“This process must ultimately lead to a final decision. It may receive the necessary approvals, or it may not,” Baghaei said.
He added that any potential understanding must secure consensus among the relevant decision-making bodies before it can be formally approved or announced. (PW)
