Qalibaf: No One Can Impose an Ultimatum on Iran
Iran’s Parliament Speaker praises public resilience and military sacrifices, declaring a historic path to victory while rejecting any external pressure on the nation.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, stated that no one has the authority to impose an ultimatum on Iran or its people.
“Heroic nation of Iran! Your 25 nights of presence in the streets, along with the sacrifices of the armed forces, have created the conditions for a historic victory for our beloved Iran.
No one can impose an ultimatum on Iran and the Iranian people.
Your sons will not let this opportunity slip away until full victory is achieved and the vicious cycle of ‘war–ceasefire–war’ is broken,” Qalibaf wrote in a post.
Calls Grow for Iran to Withdraw from the NPT
Meanwhile, a growing number of voices are calling for Iran to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), arguing that membership has brought no tangible benefit to the country.
The NPT was originally presented as a framework to support nations in developing and using peaceful nuclear energy. However, critics argue that while Israel has never joined the treaty and faces no pressure from global powers, Iran—despite being a long-time member—has gained nothing from its participation.
Iran has gone beyond its NPT obligations in the past, including accepting the Additional Protocol and even measures exceeding it under agreements such as the JCPOA, in an effort to demonstrate transparency and compliance.
Allegations of Espionage and Targeting of Iran’s Nuclear Facilities
Despite these commitments, critics argue that the NPT has not only failed to benefit Iran but has instead facilitated intelligence gathering by the United States and Israel.
They claim that information obtained through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been used to carry out sabotage operations against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, culminating in direct attacks and bombings.
Controversy Over IAEA Chief’s Remarks
Tensions escalated further following remarks attributed to IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, who reportedly suggested that Iran’s nuclear facilities could be destroyed through bombing.
Such statements have been widely condemned as irresponsible and provocative, reinforcing arguments that international nuclear frameworks are being weaponized against Iran.
“NPT Serves No Purpose for Iran”
Given this history, critics argue that remaining within the NPT no longer serves Iran’s interests. They emphasize that Iran has consistently maintained its commitment to peaceful nuclear energy and see no justification for staying in a treaty they view as a mechanism of surveillance and pressure.
They also point to past remarks by David Albright, a prominent U.S. figure on nuclear issues, who once told the U.S. Congress that IAEA inspectors function as “foot soldiers of the United States.”
According to this perspective, Iran should withdraw from the NPT as soon as possible and pursue its nuclear program independently, free from what they describe as external interference and exploitation. (PW)
