Qaani: Resistance in Lebanon and Palestine Will Liberate al-Quds
The commander of Iran’s Quds Force says the liberation of Khorramshahr and Hezbollah’s victory over “Israel” proved the Resistance can defeat occupation and ultimately liberate al-Quds.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, reaffirmed that the Resistance in Palestine and Lebanon will ultimately liberate holy al-Quds, as Lebanon marked the 26th anniversary of the Zionist regime’s defeat and withdrawal from southern Lebanon.
In an official message published on 3 Khordad 1405 (May 24, 2026), Qaani linked the liberation of the Iranian city of Khorramshahr during the Sacred Defense to Hezbollah’s historic victory over the Zionist occupation in Lebanon in May 2000.
“The epic of Khorramshahr Liberation on Khordad 3 laid the groundwork for the glorious epic of Khordad 4, 1379 (May 24, 2000), when heroic Hezbollah expelled the Zionist regime from southern Lebanon,” Qaani stated.
He described the Zionist withdrawal as a humiliating collapse.
“The regime’s army fled in panic while their radios were still on and all their equipment had been left behind in the trenches,” he added.
Qaani stressed that the Resistance Axis continues advancing despite ongoing regional aggression and pressure.
“Today, the resistance of beloved Palestine and heroic Lebanon will also bring about the liberation of holy al-Quds,” he declared.
Hezbollah Reaffirms Path of Resistance
On the eve of the liberation anniversary, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem said the victory of May 2000 was achieved through collective sacrifice and steadfast resistance.
He stated that all those who participated in the Resistance shared in the victory and praised the leadership of Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, alongside Resistance figures including Sheikh Ragheb Harb, Sayyed Abbas al-Moussawi, and Imad Mughniyeh.
Sheikh Qassem emphasized that the equation of “the army, the people, and the Resistance” remains the true shield protecting Lebanon from Israeli aggression.
Resistance Rejects Disarmament Agenda
Sheikh Qassem also warned against efforts to disarm Hezbollah under the pretext of limiting weapons to state control, describing the campaign as part of an American-Israeli project aimed at dismantling Lebanon’s defensive capabilities.
“We do not ask the Lebanese state to confront the American-Israeli project, but it must not stand against its own people,” he said.
He warned that removing the Resistance’s weapons would pave the way for future Israeli aggression and occupation.
“The Lebanese authority tells us: help us strip you of your weapons so that Israel can later enter, kill you, and displace your people,” Sheikh Qassem stated.
Hezbollah continues military operations against Israeli occupation forces amid repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon. (PW)
