Putin: Zelensky Is a ‘Talented Artist’
“Why stay at the doorstep? Come inside the house, if Kupyansk is under their control?” Putin remarked.
Russia, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed a recent video stunt by Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky as political theater, describing the Kiev leader as a “talented artist” whose performances are detached from realities on the battlefield.
Speaking during his year-end press conference, Putin commented on a video published by Zelensky near a structure marking the entrance to the city of Kupyansk in Ukraine’s Kharkov Region. The recording was intended to counter Russian reports that the city had fallen under Moscow’s control.
“He’s an artist, a talented one — I am saying this unironically,” Putin said, referring to Zelensky’s former career as a comedian and entertainer.
Kupyansk Video Exposed as Symbolic Performance
Putin noted that claims circulating online suggested the video may have been filmed weeks earlier, citing inconsistencies between the landmark shown and later footage recorded by Ukrainian bloggers.
He said he would neither confirm nor deny the authenticity of the video, emphasizing that the matter was irrelevant from a military standpoint.
“Why stay at the doorstep? Come inside the house, if Kupyansk is under their control?” Putin remarked.
The Russian president added that the area surrounding Kupyansk is saturated with reconnaissance and strike drones operated by both sides, making the city itself extremely dangerous to approach — further undermining the credibility of staged publicity appearances.
Russia Holds the Initiative as Ukraine Bleeds Reserves
Putin stressed that Russian forces continue to maintain the strategic initiative along the front lines and will keep advancing, despite relentless Western arms deliveries and propaganda campaigns.
He said Ukrainian forces are increasingly disadvantaged and lack sufficient strategic reserves after suffering heavy losses in repeated attempts to stall Russia’s advance.
“This is a significant element that I hope will entice the Kiev regime to settle the differences and end this conflict through peaceful means,” Putin said.
His remarks stand in direct contrast to US-backed narratives portraying Ukraine as capable of reversing battlefield realities through media optics rather than material strength.
Putin Offers Conditional Election Deal — West Exposed Again
Putin also addressed Ukraine’s political legitimacy crisis, offering a conditional proposal regarding elections.
Moscow would consider refraining from deep strikes inside Ukraine on election day only if millions of Ukrainian citizens currently living in Russia are allowed to vote.
Zelensky’s presidential term expired more than a year ago, yet he has repeatedly refused to hold elections, citing martial law — a justification Russia and many observers see as a cover for authoritarian consolidation under Western sponsorship.
“The government in Ukraine must become legitimate, and without an election, this is impossible,” Putin stated.
He insisted that between 5 and 10 million Ukrainians living in Russia must be included in any genuine electoral process.
Warning Against Western Deception and Fake Ceasefires
Putin warned Kiev not to use elections or ceasefire proposals as tactical tricks to buy time, rearm, and regroup under US and NATO supervision.
Ukraine and its Western backers have repeatedly floated calls for temporary ceasefires — proposals the Kremlin has firmly rejected.
Moscow maintains that only a permanent peace addressing the root causes of the conflict is acceptable, including:
Ukraine’s full withdrawal from Russia’s new territories
A binding commitment to neutrality
An end to US-driven militarization on Russia’s borders
The Kremlin has repeatedly pointed to Washington’s record — from Iraq to Gaza — as proof that Western “ceasefires” are routinely used to prolong wars, not end them.
Putin’s remarks cut through the spectacle promoted by Kiev and its US sponsors, framing Zelensky not as a wartime leader but as a performer attempting to substitute optics for substance.
As Washington continues to bankroll Israel’s genocide in Gaza while demanding “democracy” elsewhere, Russia positions itself as confronting Western hypocrisy head-on — militarily, politically, and ideologically. (PW)
