Putin Issues Warning to Kiev and Its Instigators Over Attacks on Russian Civilians
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Kiev and its "instigators" that attacks on Russian civilians will trigger stronger military action and a wider security zone.
Russia, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia will do “everything necessary” to protect its civilians and critical infrastructure, warning that continued Ukrainian attacks would only lead Moscow to expand its security zone along the border while hinting at possible “major decisions” regarding Kiev’s Western supporters.
Speaking during a visit to an auxiliary command post on Friday, Putin met with senior military commanders and Defense Ministry officials, who briefed him on the Russian army’s advance in Donbass, including the capture of Konstantinovka, described as one of Ukraine’s key defensive strongholds.
After one commander declared that “victory will be ours,” Putin expressed confidence that Russia would prevail, while urging military leaders to continue operations “rhythmically and rationally,” prioritizing the lives of Russian servicemen while ensuring all combat objectives are fulfilled.
Putin Dismisses Kiev’s Claims of Success
Putin argued that Kiev’s public claims of battlefield success ultimately benefit Russia, saying they only expose disorganization within both the Ukrainian leadership and its foreign supporters.
He warned that, in an effort to sustain what he described as a false narrative of military success, Ukraine could resort to more acts of sabotage and terrorism targeting Russian territory.
Accuses Europe of Seeking to Prolong the War
The Russian president also criticized what he called Europe’s “pseudo-peacekeepers,” accusing them of proving that their real objective is not peace but the continuation of the conflict “to the last Ukrainian.”
Referring to a June declaration by the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8), which praised Ukraine’s use of drone technology, Putin questioned whether Western governments were implicitly endorsing attacks on Russian civilian targets.
“Does this mean they also have in mind strikes on our civilian sites, civilian infrastructure, transport carrying civilians and children, and student dormitories?” he asked.
Russia Vows Stronger Military Response
Putin instructed the Russian military to continue large-scale strikes against Ukraine’s military-industrial facilities and infrastructure supporting its military operations.
He also warned that every Ukrainian attack on Russian civilian targets would result in Russia expanding the security buffer along the border.
“The more strikes the opponent attempts to deliver against our civilian sites... the larger the safety zone we will have to create in the adjacent territory,” Putin said, adding that the areas under discussion are “historically Russian land.”
In his closing remarks, Putin issued a veiled warning to Ukraine’s NATO supporters, directing the military to analyze what he described as their direct involvement in combat operations.
“This analysis is necessary for us to make possible big decisions in the future,” he said. (PW)
