Putin: Israel Informed Moscow Through Secret Channels It Does Not Seek Confrontation with Iran
The Russian President says the Iranian nuclear issue can only be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, confirming Tehran’s readiness for constructive cooperation with the IAEA.
Russia, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Israel has informed Moscow through secret channels that it does not seek confrontation with Iran.
Putin, who was attending the Russia–Central Asia summit, stated that Iran’s nuclear issue can only be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
He emphasized that Moscow is in close contact with its Iranian partners, and that Iran is ready to pursue mutually agreed solutions and to resume constructive cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Putin also said that Israel, through confidential contacts, informed Russia that it is not seeking confrontation with Iran.
He added:
“The leaders of Israel have asked us to convey a message to our Iranian friends — that Israel seeks to resolve issues and to avoid any kind of confrontation.”
Twelve Days of War Between Iran and Israel
The 12-day war between Iran and Israel, which began at dawn on June 12, 2025, with Israel’s surprise airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, military bases, and residential areas, was one of the most intense direct confrontations between the two sides.
This war continued with Iran’s missile and drone response — Operation True Promise 3 — and eventually ended through U.S. mediation and the announcement of a ceasefire by Donald Trump on June 22, 2025.
Israel’s main objective in its attacks was to destroy Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, but Iran’s retaliatory response inflicted significant damage on the regime.
