PIJ Rejects U.S. Gaza Proposal, Cites Direct American Role in Israeli Aggression
It says the occupation repeatedly violated the ceasefire while the Resistance remained fully committed, insisting that any international force in Gaza must derive authority from the UNSC.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The spokesman of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, Mohammad al-Hajj Mousa, affirmed that the Resistance has adhered to all terms of the ceasefire, while the Israeli occupation has continued to violate it openly and repeatedly.
Speaking to Al-Aqsa TV, he stated that the Resistance “never violated the ceasefire,” whereas the occupation “continuously and blatantly breached the agreement.”
Al-Hajj Mousa added that what is unfolding in Gaza constitutes direct aggression against the Palestinian people, stressing that the Resistance accepted the ceasefire in order to halt the systematic genocide targeting civilians. All violations, he said, were immediately reported to the mediators.
U.S.–Israeli Partnership in Gaza Assaults
The Islamic Jihad spokesman highlighted direct American involvement in Israel’s attacks on Gaza and its persistent breaches of the ceasefire.
He stated that the Palestinian people “will never surrender and will not abandon their rights,” emphasizing that Washington’s role serves the interests of the Israeli occupation.
Al-Hajj Mousa condemned U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal for Gaza, describing it as ambiguous and aligned with Israeli strategic goals rather than humanitarian or legal considerations.
International Force in Gaza Must Be Under UN Security Council Authority
Addressing discussions about international forces in Gaza, al-Hajj Mousa stressed that any force acceptable to the Palestinian people must:
Derive its legal mandate exclusively from the UN Security Council
Have a defined period of presence
Possess clear and limited authorities
He noted that Palestinian factions have shown significant flexibility regarding Gaza’s civil administration and have agreed on forming a technocratic government, based solely on Palestinian decision-making.
The spokesman reiterated that the Resistance remains committed to the position that any international mission must fall under the Security Council’s authority, not under American or Israeli arrangements.
Escalating Israeli Aggression in the West Bank
Al-Hajj Mousa also condemned ongoing Israeli attacks in the occupied West Bank, warning that the occupation aims to expel Palestinians from villages and confine them to isolated urban pockets.
He said the occupation has launched an existential war against the Palestinian cause in the West Bank, prompting a response from Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of Islamic Jihad.
He concluded that the decision has been made to expand Resistance operations in the West Bank in response to Israel’s escalating crimes. (PW)
