PIJ: Palestinian Steadfastness and Resistance Are the True Guarantees of the Ceasefire
Nasser Abu Sharif says Trump’s ceasefire plan aimed to rescue Israel from crisis, while global awakening and resistance ensure its continuation.
Tehran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Following the recently declared ceasefire in Gaza, reportedly framed under a plan announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, numerous questions have emerged regarding the fate of this agreement and the reasons that forced Washington and Tel Aviv to accept it.
During the Islamic Awakening Conference in Tehran, Nasser Abu Sharif, the representative of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Iran, spoke about the realities behind the proposal and the true guarantees for sustaining the ceasefire.
Trump’s Plan Aimed to Save Israel, Not to End the War
At the outset, Abu Sharif strongly criticized the core of Trump’s ceasefire plan, stating that its central objective — shared by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — is the release of Zionist captives.
“Trump did not utter a single word about the 11,000 Palestinian prisoners held for years in Israeli jails,” he said, highlighting that Israeli forces continue to arrest Palestinians on a daily basis, even under the current truce.
He emphasized that the second goal behind the plan was to rescue Israel from its internal crisis, after two years of a devastating conflict that the occupation could not definitively win.
Despite military claims, Abu Sharif asserted that Israel has strategically lost the war.
Israel: Morally Defeated and Isolated on the Global Stage
Abu Sharif described Israel today as a globally detested regime whose narrative has completely collapsed:
Politically fractured
Economically drained
Militarily exhausted
Ethically defeated
“Israel now stands as a despised entity in the world. Its internal front is in disarray, and the image it once projected has crumbled,” he noted.
True Guarantees of the Ceasefire: Steadfast People and Global Awakening
According to Abu Sharif, the real guarantee for sustaining any ceasefire does not lie in diplomatic rhetoric but in the unwavering resilience of the Palestinian people, the regional resistance front, and the global awakening that has emerged in response to Israeli aggression.
“Trump’s previous intention was ethnic cleansing in Gaza — to remove the people entirely. But what changed the balance of power was the steadfastness of our people, the resistance of the region, and the global uprising of conscience,” he declared.
He stressed that worldwide public opinion now demands a permanent ceasefire, the end of atrocities, and an immediate halt to genocide in Gaza, and this international pressure has become a decisive force.
