Palestinian Resistance Intensifies Attacks: Dozens of Israeli Soldiers Killed or Injured in Gaza Operations
Al-Qassam Brigades and Al-Quds Brigades report successful ambushes, sniper attacks, and the destruction of Israeli military vehicles, as Israeli media confirms multiple casualties
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Israeli military confirmed Saturday evening that five Israeli soldiers were injured in combat across southern and northern Gaza. Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported the injuries occurred during three separate battles in the besieged enclave.
Meanwhile, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, and the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated military operations targeting Israeli forces.
These included the destruction of tanks, sniper attacks on soldiers, and shelling of troop gatherings along the axis of Israeli ground incursions.
High-Profile Ambushes and Losses
Last week, five Israeli soldiers were killed and 14 others injured — most of them from the “Netzah Yehuda” battalion — in an ambush by Al-Qassam fighters in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza.
In June, seven more Israeli soldiers from Combat Engineering Battalion 605 were killed when their armored personnel carriers were struck in another deadly ambush by Al-Qassam fighters, marking one of the most significant blows to the Israeli army in Gaza to date.
Al-Quds Brigades’ Offensive Operations
On Saturday, the Al-Quds Brigades reported multiple successful operations across Gaza, including:
Destruction of a Merkava Tank east of Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City via a pre-planted anti-tank explosive device.
Ambush in Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, where a tank was struck by a reverse-engineered high-yield explosive device on July 4.
Attack in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, where a homemade barrel bomb destroyed an Israeli armored vehicle east of Sheikh Nasser area.
60mm mortar bombardment on Israeli troop concentrations at Jabal Al-Sourani (east of Al-Tuffah neighborhood).
Sniper attack, which reportedly killed an Israeli soldier in the same mountainous area.
Rocket strike targeting an Israeli command and control center on Jabal Al-Sourani.
Destruction of a bulldozer east of Khan Younis.
The group emphasized that its engineering and field units remain active on the ground, continuing to resist Israeli incursions and inflict material and human losses.
Al-Qassam Brigades’ Tactical Ambushes
The Al-Qassam Brigades also released multiple communiqués detailing their combat achievements:
Sniper operation in eastern Khan Younis (Abasan al-Kabira), reportedly resulting in a fatal injury to an Israeli soldier.
Destruction of four Israeli vehicles during confrontations in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast Gaza City.
July 9: Military excavator destroyed by a powerful landmine; medevac helicopters were observed.
July 6: Merkava tank destroyed.
July 2: Two D9 bulldozers destroyed with explosive devices.
Al-Qassam also released imagery of an Israeli soldier fleeing in panic, contradicting Israeli claims that the soldier engaged the fighters before being killed.
The soldier, identified as Abraham Azulai, had reportedly been targeted in a failed capture operation prior to his death. The brigades accompanied the release with a message: “Azoulai was unlucky. The next soldier might be our new prisoner.”
Two New Security Incidents Reported
Israeli media described two serious new “security incidents” — one in Khan Younis and the other in Al-Shujaiya, east of Gaza City — as intense clashes continued Saturday.
Earlier reports noted two Israeli soldiers were injured when an anti-tank missile struck a tank in northern Gaza between Thursday and Friday. Later in the day, another tank commander was reported critically injured in a separate incident.
Palestinian resistance factions continue to employ guerrilla tactics and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to great effect, as Israeli forces face mounting casualties and equipment losses amid their ongoing ground operations in Gaza.
With ambushes, sniping, and precision strikes increasing in frequency and scale, the resistance is demonstrating its tactical resilience and strategic coordination under fire. (PW)
