Pakistan Delivers Special Message to Ayatollah Khamenei Through Araghchi
Pakistan forwarded a special letter from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei amid ongoing regional diplomatic efforts.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi received a special letter from Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, during a meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Tehran on Sunday.
According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Naqvi delivered the handwritten letter on behalf of the Pakistani prime minister during talks with Araghchi.
The meeting also focused on bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan, as well as recent diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the US-Israeli war against Iran.
Before the meeting, Naqvi emphasized the significance of the message he was carrying, expressing hope that ongoing exchanges between Tehran and Islamabad would contribute to a positive outcome regarding key regional and diplomatic issues.
Pakistan has played an active role in diplomatic efforts related to the conflict, with Naqvi making multiple visits to Tehran in recent weeks and holding several meetings with Iranian officials, including Araghchi.
Pakistan Hopes to Facilitate New Diplomatic Contacts
The latest exchange comes amid reports that Pakistan is seeking to facilitate renewed diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently stated that Islamabad hopes to host another round of dialogue between the two sides in the near future, following indications that diplomatic channels could reopen as efforts continue to bring an end to the war.
However, officials familiar with the matter have indicated that no formal arrangements have yet been finalized.
According to sources cited by Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper, senior officials in Islamabad believe delegation-level discussions between Iran and the United States could potentially take place in Pakistan if ongoing diplomatic efforts continue to advance. (PW)
