Oman’s foreign minister briefs GCC counterparts on indirect Iran–US nuclear talks mediated by Muscat, stressing diplomacy, de-escalation, and regional dialogue.
Oman, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Oman’s Foreign Minister held telephone consultations with his counterparts in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regarding the recent indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States.
Oman’s official news agency reported that Badr Albusaidi, the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, spoke by phone with his counterparts in other GCC member states to discuss the recent indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the United States, which were held with Omani mediation. He briefed them on the positive outcomes achieved so far.
Support for Diplomacy and Regional Dialogue
The report said that in his calls with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar, Albusaidi also exchanged views on establishing a new mechanism for joint regional dialogue, focusing on economic and security cooperation.
According to the report, Albusaidi emphasized support for diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions during his discussions with GCC counterparts.
Albusaidi had previously stated that he had briefed J.D. Vance, Vice President of Donald Trump, on the details of the recent talks in Geneva—held indirectly between Iran and the United States with Oman acting as mediator—as well as the progress achieved thus far.
“I am looking forward to more decisive progress in the coming days,” Albusaidi said. “Peace is within our reach.” (PW)
