OHCHR Slams Israel’s Ceasefire Violations in Lebanon
UN accuses Israel of killing civilians and occupying Lebanese land, while Venezuela declares full solidarity with Lebanon against Zionist war crimes
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The United Nations Human Rights Office (OHCHR) condemned Israel for continuous breaches of the ceasefire in Lebanon, revealing that Israeli forces have killed 108 civilians, including 37 women and children, and kidnapped 19 others.
The OHCHR further noted that Israel has rendered schools, health centres, and places of worship inaccessible, intentionally paralyzing civilian life.
UN rapporteurs also warned that Israel continues to occupy five positions and two self-declared ‘security zones’ north of the Blue Line, in flagrant violation of ceasefire terms and international law.
More than 80,000 Lebanese civilians remain displaced, unable to return to their homes due to ongoing attacks.
On October 16, Israel escalated the situation with widespread airstrikes targeting civilian infrastructure—another direct violation of the ceasefire agreement. (PW)
