NYT: US Intelligence Finds Iran’s Missile Capabilities Largely Intact
Classified U.S. intelligence says Iran has restored most of its missile and military capabilities, contradicting President Donald Trump’s claims that they were destroyed in the war.
United States, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Classified U.S. intelligence assessments have concluded that Iran has recovered the bulk of its missile and military capabilities, sharply contradicting repeated claims by President Donald Trump and his administration that the country’s strategic infrastructure had been destroyed during the recent war.
According to The New York Times, the secret assessments found that Tehran has regained access to most of its missile launch sites, underground facilities, and mobile launch systems positioned along the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran Restores Missile Operations
Officials familiar with the intelligence reports said Iran has restored operational access to 30 of 33 missile sites near the Strait of Hormuz. Only three locations remain fully inaccessible.
The assessments indicate that Iran can once again deploy mobile launch platforms from many of these bases, allowing missiles to be relocated and fired from both mobile systems and fixed operational sites.
U.S. intelligence also estimates that Iran still retains roughly 70 percent of its mobile missile launchers and around 70 percent of its pre-war missile stockpile, including ballistic missiles capable of striking targets across the region.
Underground Facilities Largely Intact
The report states that approximately 90 percent of Iran’s underground missile storage and launch facilities remain either fully or partially operational.
These conclusions were reportedly based on satellite imagery and surveillance data gathered from multiple intelligence sources.
The findings directly undermine months of public statements by Trump and U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, both of whom repeatedly claimed that Iran’s military infrastructure had been neutralized.
Iran Warns Against Future Aggression
The intelligence revelations come after Brigadier General Reza Talaei, spokesman for Iran’s Ministry of Defense, warned that any future attack on the Islamic Republic would be met with an immediate and decisive response.
He said Iran has already demonstrated its ability to defend itself “both diplomatically and on the battlefield.” (PW)
