North Korea, PUREWILAYAH.COM - North Korea commemorated the 80th anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) with a large-scale military parade at Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang, presenting a striking display of military strength and ideological commitment.
North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un presided over the ceremony, accompanied by senior party officials, veteran commanders, and foreign dignitaries including representatives from China, Russia, and Vietnam.
Hwasong-20 ICBM Takes Center Stage
The highlight of the parade was the unveiling of the Hwasong-20, a three-stage solid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile described by state media as “the strongest nuclear strategic weapon system” possessed by the DPRK.
The missile is reportedly capable of reaching the continental United States and is equipped with multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles (MIRVs), underscoring Pyongyang’s continued pursuit of strategic deterrence.
Mechanized columns, hypersonic missile platforms, strategic drones, and armored divisions followed, reaffirming North Korea’s emphasis on military modernization.

Addressing the nation from the tribune, Kim Jong Un paid tribute to the armed forces and the founding generation of the Party, stating:
“Our army must always remain the elite vanguard, loyal to the Party’s cause and ever victorious in defending our people and sovereignty.”
He emphasized the historic mission of the WPK, celebrating eight decades of leadership rooted in self-reliance and revolutionary spirit.

A Display of Ideological Unity and National Resolve
The parade also featured honor guards, military academies, veterans, and paramilitary formations including the Worker-Peasant Red Guards, symbolizing the integration of the Party, army, and people.
Fireworks illuminated the October night as crowds chanted “Hurrah!”, expressing loyalty to the WPK and its leadership.
