No Aid Has Been Distributed in Gaza So Far: UN
The UN team waited for hours to receive Israeli authorization to access the crossing and retrieve the nutritional aid but ultimately failed to return the supplies to their warehouses
Palestina, PUREWILAYAH.COM – The United Nations stated on Tuesday that no humanitarian aid has yet been delivered inside the Gaza Strip, despite "Israel's" announcement the previous day that it would allow limited humanitarian convoys after more than 11 weeks of a total blockade. Experts have warned that the enclave is now on the brink of famine.
UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric reported that four trucks carrying baby formula were delivered to the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing on Monday. A few dozen more trucks carrying flour, medicine, nutritional supplies, and other essentials followed on Tuesday.
“Israeli authorities are requiring us to offload the supplies on the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing and reload them separately after they authorize our team’s entry from within the Gaza Strip,” Dujarric told reporters.
According to Dujarric, the UN team waited for hours to receive Israeli authorization to access the crossing and retrieve the nutritional aid but ultimately failed to return the supplies to their warehouses by the end of the day.
Israeli Airstrikes Kill 85 Palestinians in Gaza
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces continued their deadly assault on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, launching widespread attacks across several areas and killing at least 85 Palestinians since dawn, according to local health authorities.
An Israeli airstrike struck the eastern part of Gaza City, followed by artillery shelling that injured three civilians near the Khalid Ibn al-Walid Mosque in the al-Saftawi neighborhood, north of the city. Additional injuries were reported after an Israeli drone targeted the al-Jarn area in Jabalia al-Balad, northern Gaza.
At the same time, Israeli forces bombed the al-Ghafari junction on al-Jalaa Street and a residential home in the al-Shuja’iya neighborhood, resulting in two fatalities and multiple injuries.
Central Gaza Also Under Fire
In central Gaza, Israeli artillery shelled areas north of the Nuseirat refugee camp, while a drone strike near the al-Sawarha cemetery, south of the camp, killed one Palestinian and wounded several others.
The al-Awda Hospital reported receiving ten injured civilians, including five children, following a strike near the Ahram Tower, north of al-Zawaida town.
In Deir al-Balah, ongoing Israeli drone strikes killed two people and left many others injured. Meanwhile, Israeli naval forces continued firing on the Gaza coastline, further aggravating the already catastrophic humanitarian situation.
Escalation in Southern Gaza
In the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli warplanes launched multiple air raids targeting residential homes in Khan Younis, including areas of Bani Suhaila and New Abasan.
Separate strikes hit a house in the al-Rumeida area, while an Israeli drone bombed Tower A4 in the Hamad City complex, northwest of Khan Younis. Another house in New Abasan was also targeted in an additional strike. (PW)
