Netanyahu’s Chief of Staff Arrested
The arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s chief of staff is part of an investigation into the leakage of classified documents.
Occupied Palestine | PUREWILAYAH.COM - Media sources reported the arrest of the chief of staff to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as part of an investigation into the leakage of classified documents.
Israeli regime television announced that police have arrested Sakhi Braverman, Netanyahu’s chief of staff, for interrogation and investigation over allegations that he obstructed probes related to the leaking of sensitive documents to foreign media outlets.
Investigation by Lahav 433 Unit
According to the report, Braverman was interrogated by Lahav 433, a special police unit established in 2008 to investigate serious crimes and corruption, often referred to as Israel’s equivalent of the “Federal Bureau of Investigation.”
Channel 12 of the Israeli regime also reported that police had searched Braverman’s residence prior to his arrest.
In recent days, a hacking group claimed it had gained access to Braverman’s mobile phone.
Broader Case and Related Arrests
Braverman had been slated to assume the position of Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom; however, concerns have emerged that the allegations could delay his appointment.
In addition to Braverman, Israeli police have summoned Eli Feldstein, Netanyahu’s former spokesperson, who had previously been arrested in connection with the same case.
Earlier media reports stated that Feldstein, along with Yonatan Urich, Netanyahu’s media adviser, were arrested as part of an investigation on suspicion of leaking information and receiving funds from foreign sources.
The suspects are accused of offenses including contact with foreign entities, money laundering, bribery, fraud, and breach of trust. (PW)
