Netanyahu: I Thank the Lebanese Government for the “Agreement”
Netanyahu thanked the Lebanese government for signing the framework, saying the agreement advances the disarmament of Hezbollah through a phased security arrangement.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that “Israel and Lebanon have reached a framework agreement that makes it possible to end the conflict between them,” according to his description. He added that both sides had agreed on two security zones as a trial phase for the disarmament of Hezbollah.
Netanyahu also said that the Israeli military continues to destroy Hezbollah’s infrastructure in southern Lebanon, stressing that “there is still much work that has not yet been completed,” and that Israel will enter Lebanon and operate there “with force whenever necessary.”
He further thanked the Lebanese government for signing the agreement, saying that its signature effectively sends a message to Hezbollah to “leave Lebanon,” according to his wording.
Meanwhile, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir described the agreement as “a grave mistake,” announcing that he had asked Netanyahu to bring it to a vote before the Israeli cabinet. (PW)
