NATO Plans Military Confrontation With Russia by 2030 — Belousov
Russian defense chief says alliance openly prepares for conflict as Moscow warns it is facing escalating threats
Russia, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov stated that NATO is preparing for a military confrontation with Russia by the year 2030, citing repeated public statements by officials of the alliance indicating readiness for such a scenario.
Belousov made the remarks during an expanded meeting of the board of the Russian Ministry of Defense, where senior military and defense officials reviewed current security developments and strategic challenges.
NATO Readiness Timelines Point to Direct Confrontation
According to Belousov, NATO’s planning documents and official rhetoric demonstrate a clear trajectory toward military confrontation with Russia within the next decade.
“All of this indicates NATO’s preparation for a military confrontation with Russia,” Belousov said.
“The alliance’s plans provide for such readiness by the turn of the 2030s. This has been repeatedly stated openly by official representatives of the NATO bloc.”
The Russian defense minister emphasized that these declarations are not speculative interpretations, but rather are based on statements made publicly by NATO officials themselves.
Russia Describes Itself as the Target, Not the Aggressor
Rejecting narratives portraying Russia as a source of instability, Belousov stressed that Moscow does not pose threats to others, but is instead responding to an increasingly hostile strategic environment.
“We are not the ones making threats,” Belousov said.
“We are the ones being threatened.”
His remarks underline Russia’s position that NATO’s military expansion, long-term force posture planning, and declared readiness timelines represent a direct challenge to Russian security. (PW)
