Naeni: 650 U.S. Troops Killed or Wounded; USS Abraham Lincoln Fled Following IRGC Strike
The spokesperson of the IRGC stated in the first two days of the war, 650 American troops were killed or injured, with key U.S. bases hit and the USS Abraham Lincoln forced to retreat.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The spokesperson of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini, announced that 650 American troops were killed or wounded during Operation True Promise 4.
Naeini stated , “In the first two days of the war, 650 American troops were killed or injured.” He added that it is natural for the United States to deny and conceal the losses, but based on field presence and intelligence monitoring, the IRGC concluded that in one strike on a U.S. military headquarters in Bahrain alone, 160 American personnel were killed or wounded.
He emphasized that in recent days, IRGC missiles and drones repeatedly targeted the headquarters of the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. A U.S. combat support vessel, identified as MST, was severely hit by naval missile strikes.
Referring to the launch of four cruise missiles toward the USS Abraham Lincoln by the IRGC Navy, Naeini said the aircraft carrier had been positioned approximately 250 to 300 kilometers off the coast of the Islamic Republic near Chabahar.
After the four cruise missiles were fired in its direction, the vessel reportedly retreated toward the southeastern Indian Ocean.
Main Command Building of U.S. Air Base in Bahrain Destroyed
In the fourteenth wave of Operation True Promise 4, the main command and headquarters building of the U.S. air base in Bahrain was destroyed.
In Statement No. 13 of Operation True Promise 4, the IRGC Public Relations Office announced that in the early hours of the morning, the IRGC Navy launched a large-scale drone and missile assault on the U.S. air base in the Sheikh Isa area of Bahrain.
During the attack, 20 drones and 3 missiles struck their designated targets. The main command and headquarters building of the U.S. air base was destroyed, and its fuel storage facilities were set ablaze. The flames and thick smoke drew widespread attention. (PW)
