Meshaal Outlines Ten Strategic Priorities, Calls for a Global Alliance for Palestine
Hamas Leader Calls for Liberation of Jerusalem, Defense of Gaza, and Formation of a Global Alliance Against Israel
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Speaking at the “Oath to Jerusalem: Renewing the Nation’s Resolve in Confronting Liquidation and Genocide” Conference in Istanbul, Khaled Meshaal opened by asserting that “the time has come for the Ummah to decide on liberating Jerusalem as the title and symbol of liberating Palestine.”
He stressed the need to purify Al-Aqsa Mosque, restore Islamic and Christian holy sites, and reaffirm Jerusalem as the heart of the liberation project.
Meshaal said that throughout history, whenever the Ummah felt oppressed, it rose with a powerful will to liberate itself from aggressors and invasions — and that Palestine and Jerusalem have always served as the great arena where the future of the nation is shaped.
Gaza: Ending the War, Lifting the Siege, and Rejecting Any Foreign Custodianship
Meshaal called for mobilizing all efforts and resources to support Gaza — stopping the war, restoring health and stability, providing relief, shelter, medical treatment, reconstruction, breaking the siege, and opening the crossings.
He reminded attendees that although the war was declared over two months ago, “the battle has not ended.”
The most brutal scenes of genocide may have paused, but starvation, siege, closed crossings, blocked aid, and daily killings persist. “The plans continue, the battle is not over, and the angels have not laid down their arms. Gaza is still waiting for our stand,” he said.
Meshaal firmly rejected all forms of guardianship, mandates, or reoccupation:
“No guardianship, no mandate, no reoccupation. The Palestinian governs himself and decides for himself.
Our people do not need protection or guardianship. They seek independence, not a mandate. This is our land, our homeland, our destiny — and we are the ones who decide.”
He emphasized the necessity of protecting the resistance and its weapons:
“The resistance and its weapons are the honor and pride of the Ummah. Peace is made only by the strong. Rights are not restored in the Security Council, but in recruitment offices.”
Defending the West Bank, Supporting Palestinians of 1948
Meshaal warned that the West Bank faces the most intense battle today, with increasing settlement expansion, Judaization, and attempts at displacement.
He urged the nation to support Palestinians inside the 1948 territories as they face Israeli policies of repression, restriction, and demonization.
“The major battle is over the West Bank, Jerusalem, and our holy sites. Plans continue to unfold. Yes, this is the responsibility of Arabs, Muslims, and all humanity — but we are the ones who must decide, take the first step, and insist on our position. The world is now with us after seeing the horrific Zionist crime that can no longer be tolerated.”
He called for action to liberate Palestinian prisoners suffering severe abuse in Israeli prisons: “These prisoners are your families and your honor. They cry out to the Arab and Islamic spirit of dignity within us.”
Meshaal emphasized building genuine Palestinian national unity at home and abroad, grounded in real partnership: “There is no victory without unity, no achievement without partnership. Our strength grows when we stand together and diminishes when we stand alone. No one should monopolize decision-making or leadership. This homeland is ours, this cause is ours, our destiny is one and shared. We are all under threat, and we have no choice but to work together and build our national unity to liberate our homeland and rebuild it anew.”
Isolating Israel Globally and Rebuilding International Movements for Palestine
Meshaal called for a serious Arab–Islamic strategy to defend the region from Israeli domination, coercion, and exploitation. He insisted on rejecting all forms of normalization with “this criminal entity which is our enemy and a danger to all of us.”
He urged global legal, political, and economic pursuit of Israel: “The Al-Aqsa Flood, in all its magnitude, has prepared the international arena. Today, we can — and must — treat Israel as a pariah entity responsible for genocide against our people in Gaza, Palestine, and the region. Human conscience is ready for this. Many arenas, states, and international bodies — and the streets of East and West — now look at Israel as an ostracized, criminal entity that must be prosecuted, punished, criminalized, and condemned.”
Meshaal called for restoring widespread political, popular, student, and media mobilization across the world: “We paid a heavy price. Gaza — with all its strength, greatness, resistance, and legendary steadfastness — offered a gift to the world. It revived our cause and exposed the true nature of the Zionist entity.”
He concluded by urging the formation of a broad global alliance supporting Palestine’s liberation and independence: “Let this conference be the starting point for building a global alliance for Palestine — an international movement strong enough to pressure the Zionist entity, similar to the global movement that preceded the fall of the apartheid regime in South Africa.” (PW)
