MBZ Treats Netanyahu Like a King During Secret UAE Visit Amid War on Iran
Former Netanyahu chief of staff says Mohammed bin Zayed received the Israeli prime minister “like a king” during a covert wartime meeting kept hidden until now.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Former aides to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have revealed new details about a previously undisclosed visit to Abu Dhabi during the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, including claims that UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan personally drove Netanyahu from the aircraft to the presidential palace.
The visit, which remained secret because of what Israeli officials described as political and security sensitivities, took place while American and Israeli forces were carrying out military operations against Iran.
Former Chief of Staff Describes Royal Reception
Ziv Agmon, who recently resigned and accompanied Netanyahu on the trip, disclosed the details in a post on X.
“As someone who knows the United Arab Emirates well and lived there for many years, and as someone who accompanied the prime minister on this historic visit, which until today remained completely secret, I can say that the prime minister was received in Abu Dhabi in the manner of kings,” Agmon wrote.
According to Agmon, Mohammed bin Zayed, members of his family, and senior Emirati officials welcomed the Israeli delegation and expressed their pleasure at hosting Netanyahu.
He added that the UAE president “personally drove the prime minister in his own car from the plane to the palace.”
Agmon described the results of the meeting as “an extraordinary achievement” and “a great success that future generations will talk about.”
Prime Minister’s Office Confirms Historic Breakthrough
Israeli Channel 14 reported that Netanyahu traveled secretly to the UAE during the war and met with Mohammed bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi.
The Israeli prime minister’s office later confirmed that the meeting led to what it called a “historic breakthrough” in relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
The visit had not been disclosed previously because of its political and security sensitivity.
Reports Cite Additional Wartime Contacts
Earlier reports indicated that David Barnea traveled to the UAE during the war.
Hebrew-language media, citing foreign reports, said Barnea visited the country at least twice during the conflict.
Mike Huckabee also stated that Israel deployed Iron Dome batteries and military personnel to the UAE during the war.
The disclosures provide a rare public account of the close contacts between Israeli and Emirati officials during one of the most sensitive periods of regional conflict. (PW)
