Massive Funeral for Martyr Tabatabai as Hezbollah Affirms Its Determination Will Grow Stronger
Massive funeral in Beirut honors Martyr al-Tabatabai as Hezbollah vows that Israel’s assassinations will only strengthen the Resistance and reinforce its commitment to defending Lebanon’s sovereignity
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Thousands of Hezbollah and Resistance supporters gathered in Beirut’s Southern Suburb on Monday for the funeral of senior Hezbollah commander Haitham al-Tabatabai, known as Sayyed Abou Ali, and several comrades martyred alongside him in the latest Israeli airstrike on Lebanon.
The procession, marked by powerful chants and displays of unity, underscored the collective grief and unwavering resolve of Lebanon’s Resistance front as it confronts ongoing Israeli aggression.
A Commander Honored as a Pillar of the Resistance
The funeral ceremony featured a major address by Sheikh Ali Daamoush, head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, who delivered a eulogy portraying Martyr Tabatabai as one of the most influential military figures in Lebanon’s modern struggle against Israeli occupation and aggression.
“With honor and pride, we bid farewell to great commander Haitham al-Tabatabai and his comrades, martyrs for Lebanon and its people,” Sheikh Daamoush declared before the crowds.
He described Tabatabai as a central figure in every major confrontation, identifying him as “one of the architects of liberation and victory.” Daamoush noted that the commander held a strategic role in leading the People of Might battle and was among the most highly regarded field commanders of his generation.
Tabatabai, he added, had received multiple commendations from the martyred Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, affirming both his effectiveness on the battlefield and his deep commitment to the Resistance.
Israeli Assassination Aimed at Undermining Resistance — But Fails
Addressing the Israeli airstrike that killed Tabatabai, Daamoush said the aim was clear: to destabilize Hezbollah and weaken the Resistance at a critical moment.
But, he stressed, the occupier’s calculations were fundamentally flawed.
“Israel believes that assassinating leaders weakens the Resistance,” he said. “But we grow stronger through our martyrs.”
Daamoush affirmed that Tabatabai’s work, plans, and strategic vision will continue, noting that Hezbollah has “men capable of assuming responsibilities, regardless of the sacrifices.”
He insisted that the Resistance’s capabilities, discipline, and determination remain intact, and that no targeted assassination will force Hezbollah into retreat.
Position on Ceasefire and National Duties
In his remarks, Sheikh Daamoush also addressed the broader political landscape, stressing that Hezbollah will not engage with any proposals or negotiations while Israel continues to violate the ceasefire and escalate its aggression.
He underscored that it is the duty of the Lebanese state to protect its people, defend sovereignty, and refuse foreign pressures or imposed conditions.
Daamoush criticized the government’s performance, saying that concessions made under external influence have yielded no meaningful results for the country or its citizens.
He reaffirmed Hezbollah’s commitment to its mission, emphasizing that the movement will continue marching the path of its martyrs until all objectives of national liberation and defense are fulfilled.
A Farewell That Strengthens the Front
The massive turnout across the Southern Suburb served as a visible, unmistakable message: Israel’s assassination campaign has not weakened Lebanon’s Resistance — it has only renewed its resolve.
As Martyr Haitham al-Tabatabai and his comrades were carried to their final resting place, the chants echoing through Beirut were not those of grief alone, but of defiance, loyalty, and commitment to continue resisting Israeli aggression on every front. (PW)
