The latest victim to emerge from this darkness is Ehab Mohammad Abdel Qader Diab, a 36-year-old son of Gaza, whose murder in Israeli custody exposes the absolute depravity of the occupation and the deafening silence of the so-called “international community.”
A Cover-Up Written in Blood
Ehab was abducted by Israeli occupation forces on December 12, 2023. For months, his family was subjected to the agonising torment of forced disappearance, a deliberate policy utilised by the apartheid state to break the spirits of Palestinian families. According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, Ehab is believed to have been martyred on September 18, 2024. Yet, the Israeli prison administration only recently acknowledged his death.
When the regime finally broke its silence, it predictably attempted to sanitise its crime, claiming Ehab had been suffering from a “health condition.” His family vehemently rejected this lie, testifying that he was in perfect health with no known illnesses when he was dragged from his home. This blatant contradiction is a hallmark of the occupation’s modus operandi: medical neglect, deliberate starvation, and fatal torture are routinely masked as “natural causes” or “pre-existing conditions” to evade even the most basic scrutiny.
The Grim Mathematics of Apartheid
Ehab’s martyrdom is not an isolated tragedy; it is a data point in a horrific, state-sponsored campaign of extermination behind bars. The Palestinian Commission noted that Ehab’s death brings the number of Palestinian detainees who have died in Israeli custody since the 1967 occupation to 328.
More chilling is the acceleration of these crimes in the current epoch of imperial-backed genocide. Since October 7, 2023, 91 Palestinian prisoners have been martyred in the dungeons of the Zionist entity, including 53 from the Gaza Strip. These are not merely casualties of war; they are victims of systematic executions. Detainee organisations have documented a terrifying surge in torture, sexual abuse, and the deliberate denial of life-saving medical care. The occupation regime has enforced an “unethical and inhumane” information blackout, hiding the bodies of the oppressed while waging a propaganda war to dehumanise them.
The Hypocrisy of the Imperial Core
While the Zionist entity operates its gulags with impunity, its master in Washington continues to shield it from accountability. The American empire and its European vassals lecture the Global South on the “rules-based international order” and “human rights,” yet they provide the diplomatic cover, the legal immunity, and the billions in military aid required to keep these death camps running.
When the Red Cross and international bodies demand access to Palestinian detainees, the Zionist entity simply bars the door, and the West looks the other way. The “human rights” apparatus of the liberal imperial order is entirely paralysed when it comes to the suffering of Palestinians. The blood of Ehab Diab is not just on the hands of his torturers in Ofer or Sde Teiman; it is on the hands of the politicians in Washington, London, and Berlin who arm the butcher.
The Unbroken Beat of Resistance
The Zionist entity believes that by hiding its crimes in the dark, by delaying the announcement of deaths, and by silencing the screams of its captives, it can crush the will of the Palestinian people. They fundamentally misunderstand the nature of Sumud.
Every prisoner martyred in the dark becomes a beacon that further galvanises the Axis of Resistance. The apartheid state can steal Ehab Diab’s life, but it cannot steal the dignity of his sacrifice. As the Palestinian Commission demands immediate international intervention to halt this policy of torture, the true intervention is already underway on the battlefields of West Asia. From the rubble of Gaza to the command centers of the resistance, the message is clear: the era of the Zionist entity’s unchecked barbarity is coming to an end.
