Marking 11 Years of Yemen’s Revolution, Al-Mashat Stresses Support for Palestine
On the 11th anniversary of the September 21 Revolution, Yemen’s leader vows unwavering resistance against Israeli aggression, unity of the Arab and Islamic nations, and the defense of Palestine.
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM — President Mahdi Mohammad Al-Mashat, head of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, delivered a powerful address marking the 11th anniversary of the September 21 Revolution.
In his Saturday evening speech, Al-Mashat congratulated Yemeni fighters on the frontlines, the revolution’s supporters across the nation, and the Yemeni people at large.
He highlighted that the anniversary arrives amid profound regional challenges, with the Palestinian people facing unprecedented waves of Israeli crimes and brutality.
He condemned Israel’s recent escalation, including the attempted assassination of Hamas negotiators in Doha, the deadly strikes on civilian neighborhoods in Sanaa’s Al-Tahrir district and Al-Jawf, as well as the assault on Hodeidah port.
“These successive events provide decisive proof of the correctness and vitality of our September 21 Revolution,” Al-Mashat declared, asserting that the revolution restored Yemen’s dignity and rescued the nation from foreign guardianship.
Revolution Anchored in Independence, Palestine at the Core
Al-Mashat stressed that the September 21 Revolution was not just a historical moment but a living movement that reclaimed Yemen’s sovereignty after years of corruption, dependency, and foreign domination.
He recalled how decision-making had once shifted from the presidential palace to the U.S. embassy in Sanaa, with foreign envoys dictating national affairs.
He emphasized that Palestine has been central to the revolution’s priorities from the outset: “The revolution preserved its principled and religious position in standing with the Palestinian people, sealed with blood and immortal stances.”
He noted Yemen’s prevention of Israeli shipping through the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and beyond, as part of a broader strategy to block normalization efforts.
Al-Mashat underlined Yemen’s continued commitment to support Palestine militarily, politically, and morally, linking the country’s sacrifices and martyrs directly to the cause of resisting Israeli occupation.
“Were it not for the September 21 Revolution,” he said, “Yemen would have announced normalization with Israel at Washington’s behest.”
Defiance in the Face of War and Regional Appeals
Reflecting on a decade of relentless Saudi-American aggression, Al-Mashat affirmed Yemen’s resilience: “After years of systematic destruction, siege, and deliberate starvation, Yemen today stands stronger, more steadfast, and more determined.”
He renewed Yemen’s solidarity with Gaza, where Palestinians have endured nearly two years of continuous Israeli atrocities.
He also addressed Arab leaders directly, warning that Israel’s strike on Qatar carried a clear message: “The turn will come to you. This is an enemy that recognizes only the language of force.”
Al-Mashat accused U.S. bases in the region of existing solely to protect Israel, not Arab states, and urged unity among Arab and Islamic nations against the Israeli threat.
He vowed that Yemeni armed forces would continue delivering painful strikes deep inside Israel, pledging: “We are working to restore all the rights of our people, safeguard sovereignty, and preserve our resources.”
Commitment to Change and Tribute to Martyrs
In closing, President Al-Mashat reiterated Yemen’s path toward comprehensive transformation and building a modern, just state.
He expressed condolences to the families of victims of recent Israeli strikes in Sanaa, Al-Jawf, and Hodeidah, assuring them that their sacrifices “will not be in vain but are in the path of God and in defense of Palestine.”
“The government will continue its duties and service to the people,” he concluded, “and we will march forward in the course of radical change until the establishment of a modern Yemeni state — on the path of the righteous martyrs.” (PW)
