Major General Mousavi: Iran Has Strengthened Its Deterrence Power
Following the 12-day war, Iran has shifted its military doctrine from a defensive posture to an offensive one, adopting asymmetric warfare and decisive retaliatory responses
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM – Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, said during a visit to missile cities operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that Iran has significantly strengthened its deterrence power through comprehensive upgrades to its ballistic missiles.
Mousavi stated that Iran has enhanced its ballistic missile capabilities across all technical dimensions, reinforcing the country’s deterrence posture. He added that Iran is fully prepared for any hostile action by its enemies.
He further noted that following the 12-day war, Iran has shifted its military doctrine from a defensive posture to an offensive one, adopting asymmetric warfare and decisive retaliatory responses.
Revised Defense Doctrine and Strategic Warnings
During a nighttime inspection of combat readiness at one of Iran’s military units, Mousavi elaborated on the broader strategic shift in Iran’s defense doctrine.
He stressed that Iran has revised its national defense doctrine and warned that even the smallest mistake by its enemies would open Iran’s hand for action. Mousavi said adversaries—particularly the United States—must understand that the motivation of Iran’s armed forces to confront hostile forces has never been stronger.
He emphasized that the demand for retribution for the events of the “thirteenth day” remains unresolved, warning that any miscalculation would be met with a decisive response. According to Mousavi, the world will witness a different face of a strong Iran, adding that a regional confrontation would engulf the United States and its allies.
Referring to past confrontations, Mousavi said the Iranian nation has repeatedly demonstrated that Iran is “not swallowable,” recalling resistance during the eight-year war of the 1980s and stating that Iran thwarted long-term plans by the Israel and the United States during the recent 12-day conflict.
He also dismissed claims that Iran could be subjected to a maritime blockade, describing the country as vast, powerful, and geopolitically impossible to encircle.
Mousavi concluded that in light of continued hostile actions by the United States and Israel, Iran has adopted an offensive doctrine centered on rapid, sustained operations and crushing, non-linear military strategies. He said Iran’s response would be swift, decisive, and unconstrained by U.S. calculations.
Relying on what he described as divine promise, the resilience of the Iranian people, the readiness of the armed forces, and the leadership of Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Mousavi said Iran remains fully prepared to confront its enemies and respond decisively. (PW)
