Maduro: U.S. Plotting Puppet Regime to Exploit Venezuela’s Resources
Venezuelan President Warns of Invasion Threat as Washington Deploys Warships and Submarine in the Caribbean
Venezuela, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has accused the United States of developing an imperialist plan to overthrow the government in Caracas and install a puppet regime in order to seize the nation’s vast natural resources.
“An imperial plan has been developed to change the regime in Venezuela to install a puppet government of the United States and steal our largest oil reserves in the world, the fourth largest gas reserves in the world, and the first gold reserves,” Maduro declared in an interview with Venezolana de Televisión.
According to the president, Washington has concentrated warships and a nuclear submarine in the Caribbean, while fabricating accusations against Venezuela to justify its aggression.
International Rejection of U.S. Accusations
Maduro emphasized that international institutions have dismissed Washington’s allegations of Venezuelan involvement in drug trafficking.
“The United Nations, the European Union, the World Customs Organization, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have already rejected accusations of Venezuela [of drug trafficking],” he said. “Even in the United States, no one believes the lies that are being told about me and Venezuela.”
He stressed that Washington would not succeed in its goals, declaring that Venezuela will remain an independent, free, and peaceful country.
Venezuelan Military Maneuvers
The head of state announced that the National Bolivarian Armed Forces are conducting three-day military exercises called “Caribbean Sovereignty 200” in Venezuela’s territorial waters.
“The peoples of the Caribbean and South America have the right to peace, and nothing should violate their sovereignty,” Maduro stated.
He expressed confidence in Venezuela’s powerful state, strong and well-organized government, and determined people, saying these guarantee victory under any circumstances.
Escalating U.S. Threats
Maduro reiterated that Venezuela is facing the most serious invasion threat from the United States in the last 100 years.
According to Reuters, on August 19 three U.S. Navy destroyers were deployed to the southern Caribbean, near the Venezuelan coast, under the pretext of conducting operations against drug cartels. Washington also dispatched a nuclear submarine, missile cruiser, amphibious ships, and 4,500 troops to the region.
On September 15, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that three alleged members of a Venezuelan drug cartel had been killed in international waters.
Earlier, on September 2, Trump claimed U.S. forces had eliminated 11 others in a similar operation. Washington further accused Maduro of involvement with the so-called Cartel de los Soles, an accusation Caracas categorically rejects.
Venezuela’s Defiance
Despite the mounting military pressure, Maduro underscored Venezuela’s resolve to resist any external attempts to undermine its sovereignty.
“We have a powerful state, a strong, consolidated, well-organized government, as well as a determined people, which guarantee victory in any circumstances,” the president affirmed. (PW)
