Maduro Urges Americans to Stop Washington’s Push for War in the Caribbean
“I appeal to the people of the United States of America to stop those who are madly seeking to unleash a war in the Caribbean,” he declared.
Venezuela, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has issued a direct appeal to the people of the United States, urging them to prevent Washington from igniting a new conflict in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Speaking at an international meeting of lawyers defending international law — attended by representatives from 35 countries — Maduro stressed that peace across the region is at stake.
“I appeal to the people of the United States of America to stop those who are madly seeking to unleash a war in the Caribbean,” he declared.
Maduro emphasized that systematic violations of human rights and international law by the U.S. government are not merely targeted at Venezuela or the region.
“These actions are directed against all of humanity,” he said, noting that “our American brothers and sisters” should be the first to understand the gravity of the situation. He concluded his remarks with a clear message delivered in English: “Venezuela wants peace.”
Latin American Unity Stands Firm Against Imperialist Agendas
The Venezuelan leader recalled that after the Soviet Union’s triumph over Nazi Germany, the world embraced the hope of peaceful coexistence. He warned against the revival of fascist tendencies on the American continent — a danger he said must not be ignored.
Maduro highlighted the strength of regional solidarity, stressing that Latin American nations stand united against any imperialist attempt to provoke war in the Caribbean. “The unity of the Latin American peoples opposes imperialism’s attempts to unleash a war,” he said.
He further noted that a global movement for peace and sovereignty is growing rapidly. “A powerful global solidarity movement today numbers millions of people who are raising their voices in defense of the right to peace, sovereignty, self-determination, and the future of the peoples of Venezuela, Colombia, South America, and the Caribbean — who are united as never before,” Maduro affirmed.
