Maduro: Any US Attack Will Unite South America Against Imperialism
Venezuelan president warns that Washington’s imperialist threats will ignite a united South American defense, affirming national sovereignty and the legacy of Bolívar’s anti-colonial struggle.
Venezuela, PUREWILAYAH.COM – Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has issued a stark warning that any aggression by the United States against Venezuela will trigger a coordinated and powerful regional response, declaring that the Bolivarian Republic will never surrender its sovereignty to foreign domination.
Speaking at the Bolivarian Army Military University in Caracas on Tuesday, where he was awarded an honorary doctorate in national defense, Maduro vowed to resist what he described as the supremacist ambitions of Washington.
“We will never be a backyard, a colony, or slaves of any supremacist empire,” Maduro declared, pledging to defend the Bolivarian Republic’s independence.
Call for a United South American Front
Maduro framed Venezuela’s struggle as part of a wider continental battle against imperial aggression, invoking the anti-colonial legacy of Simón Bolívar.
“If Venezuela is attacked, we will all be attacked,” he said. “We must unite as one liberating army of South America to confront imperialist aggression.”
The president underscored that the current geopolitical confrontation is a choice between “independence and colonization” or “slavery and free peoples”, positioning Venezuela’s cause as a beacon of regional self-determination in the 21st century.
A New Defense Doctrine
Maduro highlighted that Venezuela has broken free from US-imposed military doctrines, charting its own defense path rooted in the principles of the Bolivarian Revolution.
“The 21st-century Bolivarian Revolution launched a powerful military reform and broke all dependence on the old national security doctrines imposed by institutions like the School of the Americas and West Point,” he said.
He praised the Venezuelan armed forces as “well-organized, well-prepared, capable and powerful,” crediting them with defending the nation amid years of economic blockade and political pressure from abroad.
Strengthening Internal Resilience
Maduro also outlined Venezuela’s unique political system, which he said relies not only on the five constitutional branches of government, but also on popular power and military strength, enabling the nation to withstand years of what he called “multiform war” orchestrated by Washington.
As part of his strategic vision, he referenced the government’s Seven Transformations Plan, aimed at boosting domestic production across 13 sectors to reduce dependency on foreign economies and to solidify national sovereignty.
Rising Tensions With Washington
The remarks came amid escalating tensions between Caracas and Washington. The US has expanded military activity in the Caribbean under the guise of “anti-drug” operations, deploying eight warships and stationing F-35 fighter jets in Puerto Rico.
Venezuela views these maneuvers as provocative acts of aggression, designed to intimidate and destabilize the region.
In response, thousands of Venezuelans poured into the streets of Caracas last week, voicing their support for Maduro and their readiness to defend the homeland. The Venezuelan armed forces simultaneously held defense drills, demonstrating their capacity to deter any potential US incursion.
A Call for Latin American Unity
Maduro concluded his remarks by urging Latin America to revive Bolívar’s vision of continental independence and resist imperial domination together.
“If Venezuela is attacked, we will all be attacked,” he repeated, calling on South America to stand as “one liberating army” against foreign aggression.
Maduro’s words reinforce Venezuela’s stance as a leading voice of the anti-imperialist movement in Latin America, determined to deepen alliances with regional partners and confront Washington’s escalating threats. (PW)
