Lebanese and Palestinian Figures: Standing With Iran Is a Religious, Moral, and Human Duty
Solidarity meeting in Beirut affirms that Iran is targeted for its unwavering support for Palestine and its resistance to the US–Zionist project
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Lebanese and Palestinian political and religious figures have reaffirmed their solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of current challenges, expressing loyalty to Iran for what it has offered—and continues to offer—to oppressed peoples, foremost among them the Palestinian cause and the resistance against Zionist occupation.
They stressed that standing alongside Iran is a religious, moral, and humanitarian obligation.
Al-Ahed News met with a number of these figures on the sidelines of a solidarity gathering with the Islamic Republic of Iran, held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Sahet Al-Saha Heritage Village in Beirut, in response to the ongoing challenges confronting Iran.
Sheikh Jabri: Iran Is Targeted Because of Its Firm Stance on Palestine
Sheikh Jabri stated that American and “Israeli” attempts to aggress against the Islamic Republic of Iran are not arbitrary, but stem directly from Iran’s unwavering position on the Palestinian cause since the very first moment of the blessed Islamic Revolution’s victory.
He emphasized that standing with Iran today is a religious, moral, and humanitarian duty, explaining that Palestine is not merely a political issue, but a creedal and doctrinal cause, as it is the first qibla of Muslims and the direction toward which they were commanded to pray.
Sheikh Jabri called on the Islamic Ummah, across all its sects, schools of thought, and affiliations, to recognize the danger of the American–Zionist project, describing it as an ideological project that will target everyone without exception.
He warned that this project will spare neither Arab states, Gulf countries, the Maghreb, the Levant, nor even Türkiye.
He concluded by stressing that mere observation or passive watching is insufficient, and that concrete positions and necessary measures must be taken to confront this project and the targeting of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Sheikh Dhou: Standing With Iran Is Both a Duty and a Right
Sheikh Saleh Dhou, head of the Guidance and Communication Association, told Al-Ahed that standing alongside the Islamic Republic of Iran is both a duty and a legitimate right, given the scale of the assault it is facing.
He noted that Iran has supported all living forces and resistance movements across the world without discrimination based on race or religion, asserting that the very least required in return is to stand with it.
Sheikh Dhou affirmed that Iran is secure and stable, describing the Islamic Republic as a strong state with a moderate religious approach and a wise, prudent leadership.
He expressed full confidence in Iran’s leadership, people, and military forces, stressing that there is no fear for Iran, regardless of the extent of American pressure or maneuvers, because truth will prevail—and the Islamic Republic represents that truth.
Mahfouz Munawwar: Iran Stands on the Front Line of Confrontation
Mahfouz Munawwar, a senior leader in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is being targeted today because it stands on the front line of confrontation with the false project represented by the United States and the Zionist occupation entity.
He affirmed that Iran has remained steadfast in supporting the Palestinian cause, at a time when many Arabs and Muslims have abandoned it, despite the heavy price Iran has paid.
Munawwar described the events witnessed in Iran as a clear and deliberate conspiracy, one that was confronted by the Iranian people with steadfastness, awareness, and resilience.
Sheikh Hanina: Standing With Iran Is a Choice of Faith and Conviction
Sheikh Ghazi Hanina, head of the Board of Trustees of the Gathering of Muslim Scholars in Lebanon, said that the strongest and most visible form of solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran is embodied in the stance of the Iranian people themselves.
He noted that an overwhelming majority of the Iranian population—across all sects, ethnicities, and backgrounds—has rallied around the leadership of the Islamic Republic, stating that more than 90 percent, and even up to 95 percent of the Iranian people, have clearly declared their support for the leadership of Imam Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
He added that this popular unity has been accompanied by the cohesion of Iran’s security and military institutions, which have played a decisive role in preserving stability and confronting acts of unrest and sabotage.
Sheikh Hanina emphasized that the solidarity expressed today is a continuation of this reality, reaffirming firm support for the people and leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He recalled that Iran has never abandoned Lebanon for more than four decades, standing by it against Zionist aggression, supporting it in confronting takfiri terrorism, and assisting Lebanon during times of economic and food crises.
He concluded by stressing that this solidarity is not a momentary reaction, but a stance rooted in faith and conviction that the Islamic Republic of Iran defends the rights of the oppressed in the region and stands firmly alongside their just causes. (PW)
