Lavrov: Countries That Attacked Iran Have Realized They Made a Huge Mistake
Russia says states behind the attack on Iran now recognize their strategic miscalculation, as several countries refuse to join Trump’s proposed anti-Iran coalition.
Rusia, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the countries involved in the attack on Iran have now realized the magnitude of their mistake.
Lavrov said the states that participated in the assault had seriously miscalculated the consequences.
“If the countries that planned the attack on Iran believed they could occupy the country within 24 hours, they now understand how wrong they were,” he said.
He added that Moscow has also declared its readiness to play a mediating role if necessary in order to help resolve the crisis surrounding Iran.
Seven Countries Reject Trump’s Anti-Iran Coalition Plan
Meanwhile, at least seven countries have rejected Washington’s request to join a military coalition against Iran.
The request was reportedly tied to proposals for actions aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz following escalating tensions.
China and France emphasized that disputes should be resolved through diplomatic means rather than military escalation.
The United Kingdom and Japan explicitly rejected the American proposal, while South Korea said the plan remains under review and requires further consultations.
Germany and Italy Also Refuse Participation
The governments of Germany and Italy have also announced that they do not intend to join the coalition envisioned by President Donald Trump.
Military analysts note that many U.S. allies disagree with Washington’s current approach toward Iran, particularly because the war began without their approval.
Beyond political considerations, practical obstacles also complicate the formation of such a coalition. Deploying naval forces to the region requires significant time and preparation and cannot be carried out instantly without prior planning. (PW)
