Latin America Stands Together Against U.S. Aggression on Venezuela
Regional Diplomats Consult on Unified Declaration to Block Washington’s Military Ambitions
Venezuela, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Several Latin American countries are holding consultations to prepare a joint declaration condemning U.S. aggressive actions against Venezuela, Brazil’s UOL portal reported, citing diplomats from the region.
According to the sources, representatives of diplomatic missions have begun coordinating a unified response to what they describe as possible American aggression.
They emphasize that a collective stance is necessary, warning that without a firm regional position, the White House may feel emboldened to continue using armed force to pursue its goals in Latin America.
UOL noted that Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico are expected to be among the first countries to issue a clear condemnation of Washington’s actions.
Washington Targets Venezuela Under Pretext of Anti-Drug Operations
The United States claims that Venezuela is not taking sufficient action against drug trafficking. According to The New York Times, U.S. President Donald Trump authorized the CIA to conduct covert operations inside the Bolivarian Republic.
American media reports have repeatedly suggested that the U.S. may soon begin striking what it calls drug cartel targets inside Venezuela. However, on October 31, the head of the White House stated that he was not considering launching strikes on Venezuelan territory.
Latin American diplomats continue to stress the need for a united regional position to prevent external military interference and to safeguard the sovereignty of Venezuela and the wider region. (PW)
