Larijani to Islamic Goverments: Which side are you on?
Ali Larijani urges Muslim nations to stand with Iran and the Resistance, warning that reliance on the U.S. brings only betrayal, instability, and consequences.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, has issued a comprehensive and strongly worded letter addressed to Muslims worldwide and the governments of Islamic countries, condemning what he described as a deceptive American–Zionist aggression launched during ongoing negotiations.
Larijani stated that the attack was not only a violation of diplomatic processes but a calculated attempt to destabilize and fragment Iran. He emphasized that the aggression led to the martyrdom of senior leaders of the Islamic Revolution, military commanders, and civilians, underscoring what he described as the indiscriminate nature of the assault.
Despite these losses, Larijani highlighted that Iran responded with firm national and Islamic resistance, demonstrating both internal cohesion and strategic resilience. According to him, the result has been a situation in which the aggressors now face a strategic impasse, unable to achieve their objectives or exit the confrontation without consequences.
Silence of Islamic Governments Under Scrutiny
Larijani devoted a significant portion of his message to criticizing the response of Islamic governments, noting that, with few exceptions, most states limited their reactions to symbolic political statements, without offering tangible support to Iran.
He questioned this stance in both moral and religious terms, invoking a well-known prophetic tradition:
“Whoever hears a Muslim calling for help and does not respond is not a Muslim.”
By raising this principle, Larijani directly challenged the credibility of governments that claim Islamic solidarity yet remain passive in the face of aggression against a Muslim nation.
He further addressed countries hosting American forces, rejecting arguments that Iran’s targeting of U.S. military bases or Israeli-linked assets on their soil justifies hostility toward Iran. Instead, he argued that such claims are pretexts that obscure alignment with external aggression.
Larijani stressed that Iran cannot remain passive while attacks are launched from American bases located within neighboring countries, asserting that responsibility extends to those who enable such operations.
A Defining Question: Where Do You Stand?
Framing the current confrontation in unequivocal terms, Larijani wrote:
“They make excuses; on one side of today’s battle are America and Israel, and on the other side are Muslim Iran and the resistance forces. Which side are you on?”
He called on Islamic governments to reflect deeply on the future of the region, emphasizing that the United States has repeatedly demonstrated its lack of loyalty to its partners, while Israel remains a persistent and structural adversary to the region and the Muslim world.
At the same time, Larijani made clear that Iran does not seek hegemony or dominance over other nations. Instead, he presented Iran’s position as one of strategic goodwill toward the region, rooted in the belief that unity among Muslim nations is essential.
According to Larijani, only through such unity can the Islamic world achieve lasting security, economic development, and genuine independence, free from external domination.
Warning on Consequences and Regional Responsibility
The letter also reiterated longstanding Iranian warnings regarding the risks associated with hosting U.S. military forces. Iranian officials have consistently argued that reliance on American security guarantees does not provide protection, but rather exposes host countries to greater vulnerability and retaliation in times of conflict.
Larijani warned that any country serving as a platform for aggression against Iran must be prepared to face the consequences, as Iran will not tolerate attacks launched from foreign soil without response.
Recent developments, including the intensification of U.S. and Israeli military operations, appear to validate these concerns. Reports indicate that some regional states have not only hosted American forces but have also provided logistical, operational, and strategic support, thereby deepening their involvement in the confrontation.
Araghchi: Silence Is No Longer Acceptable
In parallel statements, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the mounting civilian casualties resulting from ongoing U.S. and Israeli strikes, stating that hundreds of Iranian civilians, including more than 200 children, have been killed.
He warned that certain neighboring states hosting U.S. forces may also be facilitating or encouraging the aggression, calling for immediate clarification of their positions.
“Positions must be made clear,” Araghchi stated, signaling that ambiguity or silence will no longer be tolerated as tensions continue to escalate.
A Strategic Crossroads for the Islamic World
Larijani’s message ultimately frames the current moment as a decisive turning point for the Islamic world. It is not merely a geopolitical confrontation, but a test of solidarity, sovereignty, and strategic independence.
As Iran continues to position itself at the forefront of the Axis of Resistance, the question posed by Larijani resonates with increasing urgency across the region:
Will Islamic nations stand with the forces of resistance, or align themselves with American and Israeli aggression?
FULL TEXT of Larijani Statement
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Muslims of the world and Islamic governments
1- Iran faced a deceitful American-Zionist aggression during negotiations, aimed at the disintegration of Iran. The great and devoted leader of the Islamic Revolution, along with several ordinary people and military commanders, were martyred. Therefore, they encountered the national and Islamic resistance of the Iranian people.
2- You know that except in rare political cases, none of the Islamic governments have come to the aid of the Iranian nation. However, the Iranian people, with strong will, suppressed the malicious enemy. To the extent that today the enemy does not know how to escape this strategic deadlock.
3- Iran continues on the path of resistance against the Great and Lesser Satan (America and Israel), but is the behavior of Islamic governments not contradictory to the words of the Prophet (PBUH) who said, “If you do not respond to the call of a Muslim, you are not a Muslim”? What kind of Islam is this!
4- Some countries have gone further and said that because Iran has targeted American bases and American and Israeli interests in those countries, Iran is our enemy! Should Iran just stand by while American bases in your countries attack Iran? They make excuses; on one side of today’s battle are America and Israel, and on the other side are Muslim Iran and the resistance forces. Which side are you on?
5- Think about the future of the Islamic world. You know America has no loyalty to you and Israel is your enemy. Think about yourself and the future of the region for a moment. Iran is your well-wisher and does not intend to dominate you.
6- The unity of the Islamic Ummah with all its power can ensure and guarantee the security, advancement, and independence of all countries.
Servant of God
Ali Larijani
