Kremlin Confirms Putin China Visit in Preparation
Dates yet to be announced as Moscow confirms preparations following Xi’s invitation, with both sides coordinating on an official visit expected in early 2026
Moscow, PUREWILAYAH.COM — The Kremlin has confirmed that preparations are underway for an official visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to China, with the exact timing to be announced at a later stage.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Russian newspaper Vedomosti that the visit is currently in preparation.
“A visit to China is being prepared. The dates will be announced in due time,” Peskov said, responding to reports suggesting a possible trip by Putin to China in May.
Invitation Accepted
Kremlin foreign policy aide Yury Ushakov ранее stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping had invited Putin to visit China in the first half of 2026.
According to Ushakov, the Russian president has accepted the invitation.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow will prepare for the visit in an “active and productive manner.”
He added that discussions between Russian and Chinese officials are expected to address preparations for the trip. (PW)
