Israeli Occupation Releases Five Gaza Detainees in Critical Condition
All five men transferred directly to hospital after months of brutal detention marked by torture, starvation, and systematic abuse.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM — The Israeli occupation released five Palestinian detainees from Gaza on Wednesday evening, all in dire medical condition after being held since the period following October 7.
Local sources confirmed that the occupation forces handed the detainees over to medical teams from the International Committee of the Red Cross, who immediately transported them to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah for urgent treatment.
The released detainees were identified as:
Nabil Muhammad Mustafa al-Hilul, 51
Khidr Fathi Nimer Abdul-Al, 45
Muhammad Jamil Suleiman al-Aydi, 33
Osama Omar Shaker Shaldan
Medhat Ahmad Muhammad al-Sultan, 41
Months of Genocidal Assault and Mass Detentions
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation has carried out a full-scale genocide in Gaza—marked by relentless killing, starvation, mass destruction, forced displacement, and widespread arrests—while openly defying international appeals and the binding orders of the International Court of Justice.
The brutal campaign has resulted in:
Over 238,000 martyrs and wounded, the overwhelming majority women and children
More than 9,000 missing persons
Hundreds of thousands displaced
A famine that has killed many, including large numbers of children
Widespread destruction across the entire Strip
The release of the five detainees, all in grave condition, further exposes the occupation’s systematic mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners—another component of the US-backed Israeli war crimes inflicted upon Gaza’s population.
A Continuing Humanitarian Catastrophe
As the genocide enters its second year, Palestinians continue to endure unprecedented suffering. The condition of the released detainees reflects the broader reality faced by thousands still held by the occupation—subjected to torture, starvation, and deliberate medical neglect. (PW)
