Israeli Attacks Kill 8 Palestinians, Injure 16 as Gaza Death Toll Surpasses 70,000
Gaza death toll surpasses 70,000 as Israeli forces continue strikes despite declared ceasefire
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Eight Palestinians were martyred and 16 others injured in the last 24 hours as Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip continued.
Local health authorities reported that six new martyrs were recorded, while the bodies of two additional victims were recovered from beneath the rubble of destroyed homes.
Rescue and civil defense teams say they remain unable to reach many of the trapped victims due to continuous bombardment, collapsed structures, and blocked access routes.
Despite the ceasefire declared on October 11, 2025, Israeli strikes have continued. Since that date:
366 Palestinians have been martyred
938 injured
619 bodies recovered
Since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, the total number of martyrs in Gaza has now reached 70,125, with 171,015 injured, amid a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian and medical situation.
New Massacre in Khan Younis
Israeli forces carried out a deadly attack in Khan Younis on Wednesday, killing five Palestinians, including two children, in an airstrike that struck a residential area in the southern part of the city.
Earlier in the day, a tent sheltering displaced families near the Kuwaiti Hospital in al-Mawasi was bombed. Initial information did not specify casualties, but the strike spread panic among displaced civilians sheltering in the area.
Heavy Fire and Drone Strikes Across Gaza
Israeli forces intensified operations across multiple districts:
Armored vehicles opened heavy fire in the al-Shujaiya neighborhood of eastern Gaza City.
Artillery rounds struck areas near Salah al-Din Street.
An Israeli quadcopter drone dropped an explosive device at the al-Shujaiya junction.
Illumination bombs were fired over several neighborhoods as attacks continued into the night.
Artillery also targeted eastern Rafah, adding to the pressure on already overcrowded displacement zones.
These developments come as Gaza’s emergency services face severe operational constraints, with many areas inaccessible and medical facilities overwhelmed. (PW)
