Israel Violates Gaza Ceasefire with Deadly Drone Strikes, Killing Seven Palestinians
Fresh attacks threaten fragile truce and undermine international mediation efforts
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Israeli occupation has violated the recently declared ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, launching fresh drone strikes that killed seven Palestinians and injured several others.
The attacks occurred only three days after the ceasefire came into effect, placing the fragile truce in immediate jeopardy.
Israeli media outlets acknowledged that the military resumed operations on Tuesday, reviving fears of renewed escalation despite ongoing humanitarian devastation and international mediation efforts.
Targeted Strikes Across Gaza
Gaza City Massacre
Five Palestinians were martyred in the al-Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, after being struck by Israeli drones.
Separately, the Halawa displacement camp in Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Strip, was bombed, causing multiple civilian injuries among displaced families.Khan Younis Attack
In southern Gaza, one Palestinian man was killed and another wounded in a drone strike on al-Fakhari, east of Khan Younis. Additional drone-dropped explosives reportedly landed near Aabasan Clinic and Abu Salah Street in Aabasan al-Kabira, spreading fear among residents attempting to return to their devastated homes.
Ceasefire Terms at Risk
The violation comes in stark contrast to the recently announced ceasefire agreement. Hamas political leader Khalil al-Hayya, head of the Palestinian negotiating delegation, confirmed last week that both sides had reached a comprehensive deal, which included:
A full cessation of hostilities
Gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces
Reopening of the Rafah border crossing
Humanitarian aid entry
Prisoner exchange arrangements
These fresh attacks now threaten to derail the progress achieved through months of negotiations mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and international partners.
War’s Toll: Unprecedented Destruction
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has dropped more than 200,000 tons of explosives on Gaza, killing 67,211 Palestinians and injuring 169,961.
The Gaza Municipality reported more than 50 million tons of debris, emphasizing that reconstruction efforts cannot begin until key roads are cleared to allow access for machinery and humanitarian aid.
The Gaza Civil Defense confirmed that the remains of over 10,000 Palestinians are still trapped beneath collapsed buildings. Rescue teams, severely lacking equipment and resources, warn that large areas remain inaccessible, while unexploded ordnance continues to pose life-threatening risks to civilians.
Ministry of Health Prepares for Repatriation of Martyrs
In anticipation of upcoming exchanges, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced its readiness to receive the bodies of martyrs expected to be released by the Israeli occupation.
Forensic units, ambulance teams, and medical staff have been mobilized to ensure dignified identification and transfer to families.
Despite dire shortages, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian duty, vowing to preserve the dignity of every martyr. (PW)
