Israel Massacres 3 Lebanese Children, UNICEF Issues Condemnation

Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Israeli occupation army carried out a horrific massacre in the southern Lebanese city of Bint Jbeil through a drone strike that killed five civilians, including three children.
The first missile directly hit a motorcycle, instantly killing one man. Subsequent strikes targeted a passing car carrying a Lebanese family—father, mother, and several infants—who had recently returned from abroad and were visiting South Lebanon.
The missiles struck from above, making it clear this was not an accidental or collateral incident but a deliberate attack on civilians.
Among the victims were children no older than two or three years old, marking one of the most heinous Israeli assaults on Lebanese civilians in recent months.
This atrocity comes as Israel continues to violate Lebanese sovereignty and target civilians, even as the Five-Party Committee met in Naqoura to discuss a potential ceasefire.
Speaker Nabih Berri Condemns the Massacre
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri denounced the drone strike that killed five martyrs, including three children, and left the mother seriously wounded.
Berri stated:
“Five martyrs, a father, three of his children, and their injured mother— their blood was shed in cold blood in Bint Jbeil, before the very eyes of the technical committee tasked with monitoring the ceasefire, and just after its meeting in Naqoura attended by U.S. envoy Ortagus.”
He further emphasized that the victims, who also hold American citizenship, represent a challenge to both Washington and the international community:
“Are Lebanese children the existential threat to the Israeli entity? Or is the Israeli behavior—killing without deterrent or accountability—the real danger to international peace and security?”
Berri concluded by praying for mercy upon the martyrs and a speedy recovery for the wounded.
UNICEF: “Deeply Shocked and Outraged”
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) expressed its outrage on Sunday at the killing of three children from the same family in the Bint Jbeil airstrike.
In its statement, UNICEF declared:
“Attacks on children are unconscionable. No child should ever pay the price of conflict with their life.”
The organization called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, stressing that ongoing violence puts thousands of children at risk. UNICEF urged all parties to respect international humanitarian law and refrain from targeting civilians:
“Hostilities must cease immediately to ensure the protection of #EveryChild.” (PW)
