Israel Launches Brutal Strikes on Lebanon in Major Ceasefire Violation
Southern and eastern regions hit with deadly air raids as Beirut condemns systematic destruction and demands international intervention
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM – In one of the most violent escalations since the ceasefire declared on November 27, 2024, Israeli occupation forces launched two waves of aggressive airstrikes across southern and eastern Lebanon on Thursday, flagrantly violating international agreements and provoking widespread condemnation.
The attacks targeted civilian and industrial areas in the Bekaa Valley, Saida District, and multiple towns in South Lebanon, causing casualties and widespread destruction—underscoring Tel Aviv’s ongoing policy of destabilization across the region, backed politically and militarily by the United States.
First Wave: Drone and Warplane Attacks on Civilian Zones
The aggression began with Israeli drones striking the al-Dabsheh hill on the outskirts of Kfar Tibnit, followed by another strike on the Kawthariya al-Siyyed–al-Sharqiya main road.
Shortly after, two airstrikes struck Bnaafoul village in the Saida District, further endangering civilian life.
Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes bombed the town of Shmestar in the Bekaa region, killing one citizen and signaling a dangerous expansion of the conflict zone beyond traditional southern front lines.
Second Wave: One of the Most Violent Strikes Since Ceasefire
Hours later, Israeli forces launched a second wave of air raids on the outskirts of Ansar, South Lebanon, described by local sources as among the fiercest attacks since the truce.
According to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent, the strikes specifically targeted civilian infrastructure, including:
A cement factory
An asphalt plant
Several fuel storage tanks
In yet another provocation, an Israeli drone dropped sonic bombs off the coast of Ras Naqoura on three separate occasions, terrorizing coastal communities.
Casualties and Ongoing Attacks on Farmers
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported initial injuries of six citizens—one in Bnaafoul and six in Ansar.
Israeli aggression continued with:
A bomb dropped near Blida
Machine-gun fire toward Aytaroun, targeting civilians heading to harvest olive groves
A day earlier, an Israeli drone fired two missiles at the road between Sidiqin and Kafra, striking an express van in the al-Asi area and injuring at least one person, as confirmed by the Lebanese National News Agency.
President Joseph Aoun: A Systematic Campaign of Destruction
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the airstrikes, accusing Israel of enacting a deliberate strategy to cripple Lebanon’s economic recovery:
“This repeated aggression represents a systematic policy to destroy productive structures, obstruct economic recovery, and undermine national stability under false security pretexts.”
He denounced the attacks as a grave violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and the 2024 ceasefire agreement.
Aoun added that Israel continues to breach its international obligations, using indiscriminate force outside any legal framework—calling for a firm international response to halt these escalating violations.
The latest Israeli escalation comes amid continued political and military support from Washington, which has repeatedly shielded Tel Aviv from accountability at the United Nations. Analysts warn that the U.S.–Israeli strategy seeks to ignite instability along Lebanon’s borders to pressure the Resistance and derail regional diplomatic progress. (PW)
