Israel Expands “Yellow Line” in Gaza’s Al-Tuffah, Preparing New Demolition Operations
The move is part of Israel’s ongoing policy of systematic destruction across the Gaza Strip, which has intensified in recent days under the cover of a ceasefire that exists only on paper.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Israeli occupation forces expanded the so-called “yellow line” on Thursday in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, in preparation for large-scale demolition operations targeting residential blocks, in yet another blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.
The move is part of Israel’s ongoing policy of systematic destruction across the Gaza Strip, which has intensified in recent days under the cover of a ceasefire that exists only on paper.
New Evacuation Orders and Planned Demolitions
According to local sources, Israeli forces issued new evacuation orders for an entire residential block in an area the occupation misleadingly labels as “safe” east of Al-Tuffah.
The evacuation is a precursor to planned demolition operations and the expansion of what Israel calls “yellow cubes” by more than 100 meters in depth and over 300 meters in width.
These measures are designed to forcibly clear civilian areas and reshape the geography of eastern Gaza City through demolition and military entrenchment.
Mass Displacement and Growing Fear
The expansion triggered a wave of forced displacement, with hundreds of families fleeing eastern Al-Tuffah amid widespread fear and panic. Residents fear a repeat of earlier scenarios in which evacuation orders were followed by massive explosions, home demolitions, and large-scale destruction of civilian infrastructure.
The targeted area stretches from the vicinity of Al-Sanafour to a compound affiliated with the United Nations, bringing Israeli control dangerously close to Salah al-Din Street, a vital artery in eastern Gaza City.
“Yellow Cubes” and Permanent Military Control
Local sources reported that Israeli military vehicles have introduced what are known as “yellow cubes” — large concrete blocks used to establish military positions and impose new realities on the ground.
Their deployment reflects a clear intent to expand a buffer zone at the expense of densely populated neighborhoods and civilian homes.
These movements were accompanied by unannounced evacuation orders and direct field threats, accelerating the forced displacement of hundreds of families from eastern Al-Tuffah.
A Shrinking City Under Siege
Sources explained that the latest expansion of the yellow line effectively pushes Israeli control westward into the heart of the neighborhood, further shrinking the remaining residential space and imposing a new security reality that threatens the survival of the population still trapped in Gaza City.
This expansion deepens the displacement crisis and compounds the humanitarian catastrophe facing Gaza’s residents, who have already endured months of relentless destruction.
Ceasefire Violations by Design
Since the ceasefire agreement reached on 10 October between Hamas and Israel, the occupation army has repeatedly expanded the yellow line, turning the ceasefire into a tool for territorial consolidation rather than de-escalation.
Earlier on Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz openly declared that Israel intends to establish settlement nuclei in northern Gaza. He further stated that Israel “will never leave Gaza” and will maintain a “wide security zone” inside the Strip under the pretext of protecting Israeli settlements surrounding Gaza.
Demolition as Policy, Not Exception
The expansion of the yellow line in Al-Tuffah confirms that Israel’s actions are not isolated violations, but part of a broader strategy of demolition, displacement, and permanent control. Under the guise of security, entire neighborhoods are being erased, civilians uprooted, and Gaza’s geography forcibly rewritten — all while the international community remains silent.
For Gaza’s people, resistance is not a choice but a necessity in the face of an occupation that continues to advance through bulldozers, explosives, and forced displacement. (PW)
