Israel Bombs Dahiyeh, Expands Attacks Across Lebanon
Israeli warplanes targeted a residential building in Beirut’s Southern Suburb while airstrikes and artillery attacks expanded across southern Lebanon despite the ongoing ceasefire.
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM — The Israeli occupation launched a fresh airstrike on Beirut’s Southern Suburb on Sunday, escalating its attacks on Lebanon despite the ceasefire agreement that was previously announced between Lebanon and the Israeli occupation.
According to reports from Lebanon, a five-story residential building in the Ghobeiry area of Dahiyeh was struck by Israeli warplanes.
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that several civilians were injured in the attack. Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) later said that preliminary figures indicated one martyr and four wounded. Other media outlets reported that the death toll may have reached three.
The Israeli military claimed that the strike targeted Hezbollah infrastructure.
Attack Comes Amid Iran-US Understanding Talks
The attack on Dahiyeh came as Iran and the United States continue to signal that they are nearing a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending conflicts across multiple fronts in the region, including Lebanon.
Shortly after the strike, Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee spokesperson Ebrahim Rezaei warned against underestimating the threat posed by the Israeli regime.
In a post on X, Rezaei stated that any agreement or understanding would require confronting Israeli aggression.
“One must not make a miscalculation; even if you want an agreement or understanding, its path is the disciplining of the Zionist regime. If this rabid dog is not controlled, an unsigned understanding will bite our own feet,” he wrote.
Another Strike on Beirut’s Southern Suburb
The latest attack follows a previous Israeli aggression against Dahiyeh on June 7, when Israeli warplanes struck the densely populated Tahwitat al-Ghadir neighborhood.
At the time, Lebanon’s Public Health Ministry reported that three people were martyred and 20 others wounded, including four children and four women.
The National News Agency stated that the attack specifically targeted two apartments in the Mrayjeh–Tahwitat al-Ghadir area.
Israeli Attacks Expand Across Southern Lebanon
In addition to the strike on Beirut, Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of airstrikes and artillery attacks across southern Lebanon on Sunday.
Israeli warplanes targeted the towns of Haddatha, Hariss, and Froun in the Bint Jbeil district. Another airstrike struck the town of Al-Rihan in the Jezzine district.
In the Nabatieh district, Israeli attacks targeted Al-Dweir, Kfar Tibnit, and Nabatieh al-Fawqa, while shelling resumed against the city of Nabatieh itself.
Meanwhile, in the Tyre district, Israeli aircraft struck Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, the outskirts of Al-Abbassiyah, and the Al-Hawsh area. Artillery fire was also reported against Majdal Zoun.
The attacks followed similar Israeli strikes carried out on June 13 across multiple towns in the Jezzine, Nabatieh, Tyre, and Marjayoun districts.
Lebanon-Israel Talks to Resume on June 22
The latest escalation comes ahead of negotiations between Lebanon and the Israeli occupation that are scheduled to resume on June 22 under United States sponsorship.
On Friday, Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, said that any agreement reached between Iran and the United States would have direct consequences for Lebanon.
He stressed that Iran would seek to ensure that the Lebanese file is included in any regional arrangement, describing such involvement as a source of strength for Lebanon in confronting ongoing Israeli aggression.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, meanwhile, reaffirmed his commitment to continuing direct talks with the Israeli occupation despite mounting pressure.
“We will continue on this path until we reach its conclusion, in the interest of our nation,” Aoun said. (PW)

I do not know how or why we allow this and still support them! It has to stop! No one but the U.S. supports Israel or the war with Iran. Except those profiting from it! Evil blood money!
