Israel Arrests 10 Palestinians, Including Former Detainees in Nablus
Pre-dawn incursions across refugee camps and neighborhoods see assaults on civilians and arrests of released prisoners and educators
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of large-scale raids across the occupied West Bank early Tuesday, arresting at least ten Palestinians, including several former detainees, during violent incursions centered in Nablus.
Raids and Assaults in Balata Refugee Camp
In Balata Refugee Camp, undercover Israeli units infiltrated the area before being reinforced by additional military forces. Occupation troops stormed and searched multiple homes, assaulted a sick young man from the al-Kaabi family, and attacked residents of another house belonging to the al-Tayti family.
The campaign in the camp resulted in the arrest of five young men, including Hamouda al-Tayti, former detainee Amir Abu Rayyala, Asim Kaabi, and Rashid Ahmad Abu Amasha.
Arrests in Surrounding Villages and Neighborhoods
In parallel, Israeli forces raided the village of Kafr Qalil and the Sheikh Mounis neighborhood south of Nablus, carrying out house searches before arresting Younis Sabri al-Qinni.
Raids also extended to al-Ein Refugee Camp west of the city, where occupation forces stormed several homes and detained Ahmad Abu al-Rish.
Targeting Former Prisoners and Educators
In the al-Ma‘ajin neighborhood west of Nablus, Israeli troops arrested former detainee and sociology professor at An-Najah National University, Mustafa al-Shannar, as well as former detainee and schoolteacher Alaa Hamidan, after raiding their homes.
The latest arrests form part of an ongoing campaign of nightly incursions across the West Bank, marked by systematic targeting of former prisoners, academics, and civilians amid escalating Israeli repression. (PW)
