Israel and US Launch Brutal Airstrikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah Port
Israel and US Forces Strike Al Hodeidah Following Yemeni Missile on Ben Gurion Airport, causing many international airlines to halt trips.
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM - "Israel" has launched multiple airstrikes on the western Yemeni port city of Al Hodeidah, according to Yemen’s Al Masirah news outlet. The port and surrounding urban areas were targeted, with a total of six airstrikes reported by Israeli and US forces.
These strikes follow a reported missile launch from Yemeni territory that struck near Ben Gurion International Airport, briefly halting operations for around thirty minutes. Major international airlines, including Lufthansa, Air France, Delta, and Wizz Air, canceled flights to Tel Aviv as a result of the incident.
Yemen confirmed responsibility for the missile attack, describing it as a direct response to Israeli aggression and an expression of support for Gaza. Notably, the missile reportedly bypassed Israeli and US interception systems, including the Arrow and THAAD defense systems.
Israeli Official Admits Yemen Attack Coordinated with US
A senior Israeli official told Axios that “the attack on Yemen was carried out solely by Israel, in coordination with the United States.” Channel 12 later reported that 30 Israeli fighter jets were involved in the operation.
Bajil Cement Factory Overview
One of the reported targets may include areas near the Bajil Cement Factory, which lies 50 kilometers northeast of Al Hodeidah Port and 2.5 kilometers southwest of the city of Bajil.
The factory was initially established in 1973 with a capacity of 50,000 tons per year.
Later expansions in 1984 and subsequent years brought its capacity to 750,000 tons annually, employing a dry process.
In 2007, China’s CMEC signed a financing and implementation deal to upgrade the facility.
Alert in "Israel" Over Fear of Yemeni Retaliation
Israeli Channel 13 quoted a security official saying, “We do not expect our attack on Yemen to stop missile fire against us.” The official added that Israel’s Air Force is preparing for further launches by Ansar Allah (the Houthi movement).
Prominent Israeli figures including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, and Shas leader Aryeh Deri were reportedly present at the Ministry of Defense’s command center during the Yemen strike.
US and UK Escalate Airstrikes in Yemen Following Missile Attack on Israel
Earlier today, American and British warplanes carried out seven airstrikes on the Al-Hazm district in Al-Jawf Governorate, northeast of Sanaa. American aircraft also launched three airstrikes on the Al-Sawad area in Sanhan District, Sanaa Governorate.
These aggressions come after Yemen targeted Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday, and following a series of Yemeni operations on Israeli sites and ships linked to "Israel" in the Red Sea, in support of Gaza.
Yemen Vows to Continue Support for Gaza
Despite intensified bombings, Yemen has vowed to continue its military operations until the aggression on Gaza ceases. Yemeni forces have previously targeted Israeli-linked ships and sites in the Red Sea as part of their broader campaign in solidarity with Gaza. (PW)
